First Sport boasts a vast range of sporting products: reams and reams of footwear for almost every possible sporting occasion; fantastic, fashionable sportwear, and, sports equipment from the small fidgety items, such as football boot studs to the big and brash (eg. Snooker cues!!)!!
The First Sport staff are all extremely clued up on sports retail and it is guaranteed that if you ask them a question (eg. What type of shoes should I run the London Marathon in??!), they will have an answer and will give you honest, helpful advice. The staff really do go out of their way to help you, however, they are also trained to mither you until you want to slap a wet fish across their faces!!! This is all very well and reassuring for the customer but at the same time, blimmin' annoyinng if you are simply browsing!!!

Although their products aren't cheap, there is also the option of opening up a First Sport Account. This is just like any other high street store card. It works like a credit card and has a limit of five-hundred pounds. Great, but lethal!!!This gives you the opportunity to pay for your goods in installments and there is also the added incentive of ten per cent discount and vouchers, etc.
Their footwear is split up into categories for various sports, for instance golfing shoes, football boots, running shoes, aerobic shoes. If you participate in a certain sport, First Sport are bound to have the right shoe for you.
They have something for everyone too, whatever your sport, size, sex, or age. They stock mens, womens and childrens shoes and clothing.
There is also the added bonus that First Sports stores have changing facilities. Not many sports stores actually have changing rooms which can become extremely annoying, so this is great!!!
First Sport really should be your first and only stop when it comes to sport.
Advantages: you can meet aliens (or possibly robots) Disadvantages: I think we have covered these
...made the mistake of entering First Sport. (At last constant reader we reach the point of this ramble.)
This is a small shop with a minimal selection of sports wear. This is more than compensated by a maximum complement of staff. There was one every six feet up both sides of the shop. The scariest bit was about to happen. AS YOU PASS THEM EVERYONE OF THEM SMILES AND SAYS "HI" TO ALL FOUR OF US IN TURN. I reckon I heard the word "Hi" over two thousand ... ...I have witnessed since the last school play I was forced to watch.
Every other minute one of these sales staff (who I believe to be robots or possibly aliens) would ask if we needed any help. What for, there was next to nothing in the shop. The stock budget was obviously diverted to the staff budget.
Anxious to escape to reality we grabbed a pair of shin guards and went to the counter. Despite the billions of staff around there was NO-ONE BEHIND ...

Advantages: good range of stock Disadvantages: not always the right prices
Being a top employee of this great shop I cant really say much against it (well i could but that would be totally unloyal of me and i dont want to loose my job).
The range of shoes that come in to the store are exciting and cover a wide range of sports. The clothing for men, women and children is available in a variety of materials, styles and sizes in all the brands:
New Balance
Nike
Adidas
Reebok
Ellesse
Fila
Yves Saint Laurent
Kickers
... ...The accessories are of a great scale too - squash, tennis, badminton, rugby, football, golf, gym, you name it, we have it - even snooker. There are queues in some of our smaller stores but we do try to keep them as low as possible and we are proud to say that customer service is high on our list.
BUT be warned: working in my store my mean that you have to work with people from past existances who youd rather forget (Carl, Kieren, Tom, Julia) - isnt ...

Advantages: good range of clothes Disadvantages: meaty beefers
...feel that buy shopping in First Sport I have covered both aspects. I have to say that there is a very good range of trainers and leisure footwear which are always being replensihed with new, stylish designs and they are for sale at a reasonable price.
There is an extensive range of clothing on the racks which is always maintained by the staff who dedicate themselves to making everything look pristine. This makes the First Sport shopping experience ... ...it by all costs! First Sport also has a good selection of sporting euipment (if you're into that kind of thing).
The service is fantastic, there always seems to be someone waiting to help you- although in my local branch some of the assistants are somewhat scary and meaty-beeferish. The queues are usually short and fast moving which shows that there is good organisation. ...

Advantages: Friendly staff, frightenly friendly Disadvantages: Hell on earth, trust me go elsewhere
I have never felt the presence of desparation as much in my life, I was shopping and was in need of new shinpads for my hockey. I entered the store to find the staff arranged in a 4-4-2 formation around the stores three main walls, the store was empty and it is no wonder, each member of staff said "hi" with the cheesy grin you would expect from a car salesman. the moment I opted to look at a product I was hassled by the nearest member of staff until ... ...alone.
In the end i stumbled out with two T-Shirts,trousers,trainers, two polo-shirts a snooker cue and histories most expensive shinguards
"They are solid plastic with a metal lining and a thick foam backing" i was told "These particular ones protect your angles from kicks and simular impact" Who Cares
"They are great value at only £24.99". So I am easily enticed into purchasing a product, there is no need to cannabilise this fact.
In the end ...

Advantages: A big Range of Sport wear to suit all Disadvantages: None
...my son all shop from First Sport, they do some really good trainers for little ones and all their prices are reasonable. Kiddie Reebok Classics and Nike Cortez are around £22/£24.00.
There smallest size in clothes starts at 2 years old. I think they should start to do baby sport clothes like Footlocker do, Footlocker cater for 3 months and up in clothes which is really good also at affordable prices e.g Nike Navy Shorts £5 or less, Adidas Romper ... ...or less, Footloocker always seem to have a sale on so that's why I say or less...
You can apply for a store card, which we have. Our credit limit is only £250 and the minimum payment on that is £10 a month.
They see a range of stuff from Trainers to Jogging bottoms, Shirts, T-shirts, Socks, Swimwear, Footballs, Football boots, Wallets and Leather protective stuff for your trainers that you buy.
They sell all makes/brands e.g Nike, Adidas, Reebok, ...

Advantages: Cheap Clothes and Excellent Quality Disadvantages: None
..or near as damn it. I'm just finishing off my shopping for clothing before jetting off to Mexico and needed some T Shirts, boxer shorts , socks and the like. I checked out Next in Newcastle and didn't fancy shelling out 25 GBP for a decent T Shirt (although they had some for a tenner).
Next door (in Newcastle) is Primark. Apparently these stores are shooting up all over the British Isles. So I had a look in before venturing off to FirstSport, the next shop on my list.
I managed to get nine pairs of boxer shorts for twelve pounds and eight pairs of sock for four pounds. Then I saw they had piles of T Shirts and Polo Shirts , most of which were four or five pounds although some of the name brands went up to ten pounds.
The store sells a full range of men and women's clothing and are extremely reasonably priced. My ...

I would just like to write a review on my local Sports Soccer store in Plymouth, although I do think now that it is actually in fact called Sports World. So on first impressions, on walking in to the shop what do I think about it? Well, not a lot! If you have read my review on the Officers' Club, well this shop is even worse than that! For reasons that we shall now find out about.
To start off with, I shall begin with the advantages:
First off, this is an excellent shop that sells just about anything that you ould wish to hope for in terms of sport. From children's trainers up to adults top of the range mountain bikes that do everything but make you a cup of tea (OK a bit of an exageration but you know what I mean), you will find everything that you could so wish for.
Secondly is the price, as everything comes at that lower ...
Advantages: range of trainers Disadvantages: prices, quailty of other stock
My friend works at JD Sport so when I go to see her, I often have a look around the shops. Firstly, what is the difference between JJB Sports, they have similar names and similar stocks. I don’t really think this shop is that it always seems to be a season behind. The prices are quite high, although you can find a bargain on last season’s stock.
Unlike Allsports they have no points scheme, so there’s no attraction to visit again. The store is quite big and the sports clothes, trainers are well organised but that’s about it, really.
I wouldn’t recommend this sports store because there are other better ones. However, if you want a good pair of trainers then this is the store. It’s got a huge variety of different brand names and they vary in price.
You can if you look get a bargain. I normally ...
