Advantages: Double drawer, independent operating untis in one applicance. Removeable trays - easy to clean. Disadvantages: Needed replacement parts within the first two years of is life which I had to pay for.
I have had my Fisher & Paykel dishwasher for seven years and overall I'm happy with it. I had a couple of teething problems in the first two years with seals needing to be replaced and one of the motors which I think is a little poor on the part of the manufacturers particularly charging for replaement parts for a machine that clearly hadn't had massive use ( I do not have a family or throw thrice weekely dinner parties!).
The product in itself is a clever design and the two independently operating drawer units are very handy. It has aged well and I'm hoping that it will not give me any further issues in at least the next 3-4 years as the price one pays should guarantee a reasonable lifespan. If it does give me any probelsm it will likely be relaced by a Miele - depending on the level of support offered by the manufacturers ...
Advantages: 19" screen, Dualcore Processor, 320Gb Hdd, 2gb Ram Disadvantages: Vista, Sound card, no software included
the need to upgrade.
Disadvantages:
Windows Visa! If you get the chance I think you shuiold stick to XP for at least another year and switch when all the buggs have been taken out. My computer has randomly chrashed several times and has frozen at times. This is a software issue and is not to be blamed upon the Dell Dimension E521.
Another disadvantage is that there is very little software included, but I guess you can expect that from Dell. The software they do provide are useless trials for software you never use anyway. The 30 day trial of McAfee is the only software I found useful, although it didn't work very well with the ridiculous security software integrated in Windows Vista.
My Sound has also gone after a week of so. For some reason the computer doesn't recognise the integrated sound, and I think I'll have to buy a new sound ...
Advantages: Drawers stops the dogs licking your plates Disadvantages: Repeated Blocking
Yes, it is a gimmick. We were attracted by the modern design and stainless steel look of the machine. If you have dogs, and like ours they rush to lick the plates every time you open the door - you may think this is the machine for you. We did. There are many attractive features on the dishwasher - you can fit saucepans in; if you have nice glass, but not enough to fill a whole load - the half drawer means you can do a half load on glass setting. But - and there are lots of them - the machine keeps blocking and their customer services told me I had to wash the plates properly before I loaded them - isn't this a dishwasher? The rinse aid is difficult to fill from a bottle and for some reason you are sternly warned against letting even one drop fall into the machine; the salt dispenser is difficult to fill; they don't like tablets ...
