Advantages: Stimulating and fun for young children Disadvantages: Short battery life; The slightest touch can set it off.
...it looked like fun, the Fisher Price Dancin’ Bandstand was our choice for Jon’s main present. Costing around the £40 mark, it can be bought in Argos, Toys R Us or anywhere that sells Fisher Price toys. On Amazon it’s called “Dance Baby Dancing Bandstand”. Not sure where they got that name from.
The first thing that attracted me to the Bandstand was the dancing monkey on top. While the songs are playing the monkey spins round and wiggles from side ... ...the toy interesting. Of course, the first thing Jon did when he saw the monkey moving was to grab it. The toy seems to stand up to this kind of (mis!)use and although the monkey makes a not very healthy clicking sound when it isn’t allowed to turn round, there doesn’t seem to have been any lasting damage.
Underneath the monkey is a flat yellow area that baby can hit and use as a drum. When this is pressed (or bashed) it starts flashing, again gaining ...

Groove on baby Review ofFisher Price Dancin' Bandstandby
vickiuk
Advantages: Encourages baby to interact, stand and dance Disadvantages: The height could do with another added ajustment
...great interactive durable toy by fisher price, which encourages baby to stand , move and dance. It costs around £37-£40, Baby can sit or stand whilst playing with the bandstand.
My in in-laws bought this for our son Jamie last Christmas and he absolutely loves it.
Setting up
This is fairly easy to fix together, a Philips screw driver is needed, there is the dance mat and base which you attach to the legs, and the band centre clips ... ...the left hand side next to the keyboard and the guitar attaches to the right hand side, the monkey was a little tough to fit into his dancing slot.
It also has a height adjustment, but it would have been better it this could have adjusted a little bit higher, as Jamie tends to lean over when playing on the bandstand.
Operating the bandstand
You switch the bandstand on by the button which is under the main music centre this is also ...

Advantages: Helps on getting child to stand on their own Disadvantages: the music can get annoying
The fisher price dancing bandstand is a great toy I bought this as my daughter was not pulling herslef up to stand and I was recommened this toy for helping with that as their child was doing this themselves. So I bought it and it has encouraged my daughter to stand holding on to the front handle and she loves the music and the toys that are on this.

Advantages: bright cheery colours, fun, teaches child to stand and dance Disadvantages: batteries run out quick, noisy, bulky
We bought the Dancin' Bandstand for Sophia for Christmas, being on a bit of a budget we got it second hand from a couple with two children for £15.00, however in the shops it is approx £40.00. It can be bought from all major toy stores.
It is recommended for ages 6 months +, however Sophia was 8 months old when she got it and I would say she didnt really take an interest in it till she was approx 10 months old. With our product being second hand ... ...bit of wear and tear, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, it is like brand new! Obviously it is made to last and has been thoroughly tested.
There are two height settings for the band stand which is great as your child can use it when they are sitting down or when they are standing up by pulling themselves up on the blue bar at the front. The band stand itself has a bright red monkey that dances and twirls when the music plays, Sophia ...

Advantages: Encourages interactive play and standing Disadvantages: So loud!!
Both of my children love this toy. It can be bought in most Toy shops for around £40. The mat makes for interesting looks from my children when the toy starts playing music when they touch it. I found this especially useful for my youngest when she was still stationary. I could sit her in front of it while I made dinner etc and it would keep her quite happy and amused. It has 2 height levels for standing or sitting babies It grows with your child ... ...anything, just plays music but has different settings so as your child touches each instrument it begins to play, if they touch it again it stops. I am however, not a big fan of the mat, especially not for the younger child. While it is a good addition my chidren much prefer a more hands on approach with the actual toy. The mat is also very sensitive so beware stepping on it as your getting your child to sleep (I have done this many times!!) It is ...

When I and my partner decided to have children, nowhere in the manual did it mention running around with spray and cloth and holding child at arms length while urine was projected in an arch formation and that would be the easy bit!
