When I and my partner decided to have children, nowhere in the manual did it mention running around with spray and cloth and holding child at arms length while urine was projected in an arch formation and that would be the easy bit!

Potty Training, oh sweet joys of joy, the best things in life always have consequences; Pleasure is always followed by pain, etc... etc..

Our first decision to start potty training was when we decided that 1. Nappies were getting too expensive and we were using them too frequent and 2. When we realised that it was becoming increasingly annoying changing a bum when the owner of said bum could quite easily run, jump, walk and talk (well almost).

So off to mother care, remembering potties of old being large plastic bowls I was expecting to obtain the same, when lone behold the Mrs. eyes the Fisher Price Fun To Learn Potty, well that was it my chances of a £5.00 crapper were out the window, his lord and majesty now owned a potty that sang and danced at a £24.99 more than I was hoping for.
So got this home and show the little King his new throne to which I got a hot wheel thrown in my eye and loud NO, even though he didn't actually know what it was... great start!

Opening the overly large box, it contained the potty in two parts and some manuals and warranty card stuff, at that point I realised no batteries but luckily had some to hand, so I connect part A too part B with some electrical wires connecting in the process, at which point you have a planned, and erected potty, which is designed in a fun off centre wobble look shape with a moving sliver flusher, and happy face toilet paper roller, the bottom has a flap to close./cover potty, inside a seat part which also lifts up and under that a bowl catcher which can be removed for obvious reasons, also included if you happen to be ruled by a King and not a Queen as we are, is a small cover for his penis, which stops any stray spraying going anywhere but inside!

The clever bit, or not so much in our experience.

As the potty is to encourage use and correct use of the potty fist off all sitting on the potty initiates a song and well done speech from the potty, secondly inside has an infrared sensor and should line of site be broken by the Childs use it again recognises this and rewards with fun song and praise, thirdly when the child has finished and stands up it again recognises this and promotes use of flushing and toilet paper, to which the related tools also play sounds and music.

All that's fun for the child, in my experience too much fun,

Week 1: playing with potty as if a toy and not for its intention (this was ok as we thought would be comfortable using

Week 2: Actually starting to want to use it so a lot of chasing and cleaning with cloths

Week 3: Stop using nappies all day and letting his majesty use his throne on his command but every time he sits and the music plays he gets shy and runs off

Week 4: same as week three but doing number 2`s now

Week 5: fully trained by day.

We felt that by having music and games with the potty it just extended the use of the potty to begin with, as having two children previous it was a case of 2 weeks and trained max, but all these lights sounds and technology just made it harder, maybe it was just our son, but I suspect not,

The build quality is excellent all softer edges with pleasant colours' and sturdy enough for him to jump and kick it around without any problems.

The Price, is well worth it if you want it, kids get their own way and mums get it more.

The usefulness is great it functions as supposed to and has many neat and fun features but it's just overly keen on making it fun and can distract the child from the issue of learning.

It doesnt weigh very much and is very easy to clean with good hand grips.

Overall, it's what it says a fun to learn potty, just too much fun = a little less learning. But its better than your normal boring one colour plastic potty and I would recommend to anyone with children as it also looks nicer around the house
