Jack's first Christmas was wonderful and he received far too many presents from everyone including myself. One of his presents was this Laugh and Learn Puppy that his nana bought him (my partners mum). I have since seen it for sale many places such as Argos or online at Amazon and it is pretty much the same price wherever you go and that is around the £20 mark.
To look at the puppy you will see a lovely soft toy with different coloured body parts and the names of these body parts written onto the fabric of the puppy. He sits around 30cm high if not a little more and his limbs are all soft and movable. He has large floppy blue ears one green and one purple paw, one orange and one yellow foot. He has a small t-shirt on that has letters printed on in different colours. His face is very happy and smiley so he looks like a puppy you would like to have as a friend!
He works in two different ways and these ways are controlled by pressing his left foot. This changes the mode from ABC to music fun and you can also turn him off by pressing this foot. The puppy teaches 10 different songs and these are: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, The Alphabet Song, This Little Puppy, Do Your Ears Hang Low, Pat a Cake Pat a Cake, If Your Happy and You know It, The Numbers Song, Incy Wincy Spider, It a Great Big Colourful World and The Body Song. Some of the songs I don't recognise but the woman's voice that sings them is not too annoying like some other talking toys. The songs are rather too catchy and I find myself signing them all day after playing with this puppy.
There really is a lot to learn from playing with this Laugh and learn Puppy toy. Along with all the songs there are encouraging phrases that the Puppy says to help the child feel rewarded. It speaks and has written on it all different body parts. The songs sung cover everything from the alphabet to numbers, back to body parts and colours. If you touch its nose it may well sneeze or say you've got my nose!
That is really all I can say on the functioning and look of the Laugh and Learn Puppy. I think it is a good toy but there is one major fault and that is that it is far too sensitive. You may want to listen to the whole of the song if your happy and you know it but it by chance Jack or myself slightly touches another part of the toy is will change song and continue to do so until it left well alone. This is such a major fault that it really does stop Jack from enjoying playing with it because even for me it gets too much and a little confusing not knowing what you are listening to.
Everything else, apart from this highly important error in manufacturing, is really good. I find the price very affordable and just right for what the product is. The puppy looks and feels good to play with. You can easily sponge clean the toy without any hassle and the batteries last for a good amount of time. All the different learning modes should make it a highly desirable toy. However the fact remains that this toy is really hard to enjoy and play with because of its over sensitiveness. All in all I would probably advise people not to buy this Laugh and Learn Puppy due to this fact . It would be a really good toy if this was corrected but unless mine is different from every other one available I would steer clear.
Thanks for reading and I hope this has been of some help.
