I never had friends or cousins with babies so never was interested in toys. But now when we have a little girl I am a little bit obsessed about toys: keep on browsing online shop catalogues, read reviews, check ratings…. I am always looking for special toys that my girl would love (of course You never know if a baby is going to like a toy…)! And one day searching for toys I noticed a very pretty pink Pig – bank, actually it was Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank. Same moment I decided it’s a great toy and bought it from Toys R Us.

FEATURES

This cute and friendly Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank offers plenty of learning fun and musical activities. It helps to teach numbers, counting, colours, animals and sizes with songs, music, speech, and activities that respond to baby.

- There are 10 colourful coins (yellow, orange, red, green and blue) with animal pictures to drop into the slot on Piggy’s back while counting along, comparing big and small, and discovering animals.
- Press Piggy’s snout for musical responses (it sneezes, says “Excuse me” and plays music/songs), open the clear plastic door for put-and-take play (Piggy says “Open”, “Close”), and enjoy fun sing-along songs.

On the top of the Piggy Bank there are 3 settings: 123 (learning), Off and Music. At the bottom there’s a volume control button.

OUR EXPERIENCE

As I especially liked this Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank and also thought it’s a great educational toy, I bought it for my little girl. She was 8 months old then. As they write this toy is suitable for 6 month and older babies it looked perfect at that age. Well my daughter of course liked the Piggy Bank but she was and still is too small to understand how to put coins in the slot…. She just likes when I help her – put coins end in the slot and she pushes them in (or takes out and drops on the floor…). So I really think that age suitability “6 months +” isn’t quite right and should should be 12 or 18 months +. And how surprised I was when in Mothercare website age suitability for this Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank was written 18 months +!!! It’s a huge difference comparing to all other websites selling this toy.

Though my little girl can’t use the Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank as it should be used, she likes it very much! Piggy’s colours are bright, Piggy itself looks very cute, plays different music, makes sounds…. Our girl likes touching Piggy’s nose, ears, tail, tries to bite them…. She especially enjoys opening and closing the clear plastic door, putting her little fingers (not coins!!!) into the slot. Another great thing is all those colourful coins! She loves them!!! Colours are very bright, it’s easy to take them and the most important thing – is great to chew on them and then drop on the floor!!!

And I need to keep picking them up all day…

Well a little problem is with the plastic door. If it is properly closed, for a baby it is not very easy to open it. So usually I have to sit close to my playing daughter and help her to open the door. And she enjoys closing it again and again….

Another bigger problem for me (not for my daughter of course) is the music. Actually music and words of songs are OK but that woman’s voice is so irritating!!!! Especially when You hear it not a few times a day but from time to time all day long…. Looking at my smiling girl I think she really likes it but mummy isn’t that happy…

OVERALL

I definitely recommend Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank for all babies. It is such a great toy! Well maybe not for 6 months old babies but a little bit older ones….

My little girl has it for a few months already. She really likes the Piggy and I think this toy will used a long time. Now it is just a bright, musical toy. A bit later it will be a very educational one: teach animals, numbers, counting, colours.

So if You are looking for a toy for Your baby or for a present, You should try a Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank!
