My son loves the Mr. Men books and I have to read several of them to him every day. He has a number of favourite characters, and among them is Mr. Bounce, for the same reason as he loves Tigger because whenever we talk about him it gives him permission to bounce around like a demented mad thing!!

I came across the Fisher-Price Mr Men Show Friends range by accident and I have bought a number of the characters for my son - and basically he chooses the correct Mr. Men toy to sit and cuddle depending on which book we are reading. The Fisher-Price Mr Men Show Friends Mr Bounce toy is one that he'll obviously read with the Mr. Bounce Mr. Men book - but he will also use this one and several of the other characters to role play and make up little stories with the characters in.

Fisher-Price Mr Men Show Friends Mr Bounce character cost me just £4.25 from Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk) which included postage and packaging. I feel that this is a really good price, but I do wish you could buy them in a batch at a reduced price because there are so many characters and once you buy one then undoubtedly your little munchkins are going to want more!

Mr. Bounce is a soft sqidgey character which does look exactly like the Mr. Bounce from the books. It is quite small and measures just 11cm x 10cm x 8.5cm - and it weights just 80g. Therefore it is very lightweight and so perfect for a small child, and although it is small, it is ample size for my son to clutch onto and hug. The cloth used is slightly furry and is soft and seems to be something my son will stroke in order to comfort himself.

Mr. Bounce looks friendly with a great big smile on his face with arms extended in such a way as it looks as if he is offering a bug hug. It is very cute and I can see why little ones like it so much. It cannot really stand or sit up by itself and so when it's not being hugged it either lies on the floor or is propped up against the wall.

Although there aren't any washing instructions on the toy, I have placed this in the washing machine on a cool heat and it coped well with no adverse effects. It seems to be very nicely put together and is robust and hasn't frayed or come apart in any way. It does look slightly more worn than it did when it was brand new, but in a way this just makes it look loved.

The only thing that makes this toy not perfect is the fact that my son expects it to be able to bounce......because it is Mr. Bounce after all!
