My mother bought this baby gym for our son (under strict instruction from me!) as a birth present. I liked the idea that it was multi-functional and would adapt easily with your growing child and therefore be excellent value for money.

We started off with the top section the baby gym fixed to the side of our sons cot, but found that he wasn't really interested in it as it was too high for him to focus on properly, as it only attached to the top section of the cot.

We then decided to re-attach it to the legs and have our son laying under the hanging play items. He wasn't really surewhat to do at first, but was definately encouraged by the fact that if he hit or kicked the toys hanging down the music started to play and the lights started to flash. He soon realised that it was his actions of hitting the toys that made the lights and music work and then deliberately started to aim his hands and feet towards the toys.

It is recomended that the child only spends half an hour at a time underneath the gym, so that they are not overwhelmed by the lights and music and all the lings that their little brains are trying to compute at once, but our son would create like mad when it was time to take him out!

As our son grew too old for laying under the gym - his new game began to be trying to pull himself up using the toys hanging down - so he had to be supervised if he was lying under it as he tended to land with a bump when his weight pulled the toy out of it's clip - we found that if we sat him in his baby chair and left the piano facing forwards, like it does when it's used for the baby gym, he would get great fun out of batting the keys on the keyboard so they lit up and either making it play a tune or composing his own!!!

The gym has a switch on the top which has three positions - off, classical music tunes or singles notes.

Once he was old enough to stand unaided, we turned the piano section round so our son could play with this gym in it's piano form, which he did endlessly much to the ammusement of our family!!!

I would definately recomend this baby gym over some of the others I have seen, as it grows and adapts to each of the stages in yourchilds early life. Our son really did get his money's worth out of it!
