...to our IT department a Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive soon arrived on my desk. For those who have never seen one, flash drives are a modern alternative to the ancient technology of floppy disks. You can easily transfers file to and from it and it is reusable unlike storing stuff on CD. The Kingston DataTraveler that I have is white in colour with a green tag on it which gives the name and the memory size. It's approximately 6.5cm in length ...
...is that it can be easily lost, although it does come with a hole at one end where you would be able to hook it to a key ring or neck tag. It has a little white cap which when removed reveals the USB plug. You just plug it into a USB port and send to it whatever information you want (it usually comes up as a "Removable Disk" in your explorer). Advantages: Small ,portable,good price
Disadvantages: I keep losing it its so small

I was lucky enough to be given one of these for Christmas,and what a delight ti is. I have a couple of pc in the house and I am always wanting to transfer information between the two.I have tried several methods but not being a computer hardware buff have always screwd it up. ending up copy data onto a cd and transfering it that way. Not the most efficient way of doing things as cd tend to hold about 700mb of data and most of the stuff I need ...
...little gizmo comes into its own. If your operating sysyem is running win98 or better and its equipped with a usb slot ,that all you need. Just take the cap of the Micro plug it into the usb slot and hopefully your pc will detect and show this extra memory {256mb}as an extra drive.
