Flash does the hard work, so you don’t have to! How that little advertising slogan used to get on my nerves, and indeed, actually put me off buying Flash products. I’m not too sure why – normally I will buy anything for an easier life, especially where cleaning’s concerned, but put me off it did.

Hmmm – probably, I am not known for being the cleanest of people, and to be honest, whilst I don’t quite live in the state of squalor that some students do, I do make an awful lot of mess for just one person.
Anyway, I am now a flash convert! This little tub of wipes has proved to be exceptionally useful, and very versatile. The wipes ... more
Flash does the hard work, so you don’t have to! How that little advertising slogan used to get on my nerves, and indeed, actually put me off buying Flash products. I’m not too sure why – normally I will buy anything for an easier life, especially where cleaning’s concerned, but put me off it did.
Until last month, when my parents came to visit, bearing gifts. As well as the ‘proper’ presents, mostly chocolate and alcohol (!), they also donated a little tub of flash wipes. Were they implying that my flat wasn’t as clean as it should be? Hmmm – probably, I am not known for being the cleanest of people, and to be honest, whilst I don’t quite live in the state of squalor that some students do, I do make an awful lot of mess for just one person.
Anyway, I am now a flash convert! This little tub of wipes has proved to be exceptionally useful, and very versatile. The wipes are kept in a tub similar in size to a small ice cream container, but with a proper lid, which clicks into place, to prevent them from drying out. It is a sturdy little box, and has survived falling off of tables, having coffee spilt on it, etc etc without cracking or falling apart.
So what’s inside? Either 40 or 56 Flash Wipes. These are cloths, about the size of a face flannel, but thinner, which are damp, and soaked in a special cleaning solution. This is antibacterial – particularly welcome in the kitchen and bathroom, and although I have heard that in the long run, antibacterial products may actually create ‘super germs’ by building up their resistance, they do give me peace of mind. So they clean, and disinfect, on virtually every surface, so long as its hard, and washable. This means that they are suitable for use in the bathroom, the kitchen, the fridge, even on things such as telephones, or garden furniture. Very practical – I hate having to buy different cleaning solutions for different things, much better having one product with many uses.
They are extremely simple to use – just take a cloth and wipe it over the mess, (what? You mean you clean a surface even when there is no visible mess?) and then use a clean part of the cloth to complete the cleaning. I find this particularly useful when wiping up all my hot chocolate spills from the top of the freezer (my kitchen is so small that the top of the freezer is my only work surface unless the lid of the cooker is down!). It is a lot easier than spraying stuff onto a cloth, then wiping, and depending on the product, then drying with a bacteria ridden tea towel.
So far, I have not had an allergic reaction to the wipes – although if you use them for a prolonged amount of time then gloves are recommended. For some reason I only ever get the urge to clean for prolonged periods of time when I get PMT – anyone know why that is??? The smell is a little strange – smells of a regular disinfectant smell mixed in with sherbet! Although I’m sure they’ve changed the smell – I bought some refills for the tub which seemed to smell a bit different to the originals.
That’s another good thing about them – refills. It means you don’t need to shell out for a new tub each time they run out. This brings me onto prices – the tub with 40 wipes costs £1.99, and then each refill pack of 56 wipes is £1.79.
Negative points? Well, if you have a big kitchen and bathroom, you might find this a bit less economical than using the traditional cleaning methods. But apart from that, they’re great! Quick, easy, and cleaning even some of the more stubborn stains. Just throw them away once they’re used, and that’s that. Flash really does do the hard work!!
Advantages: works fast, great smell Disadvantages: want to wear it as perfume
...a bright blue bottle of Flash calling me to buy it. I purchased it for 99p for a 500ml bottle, from our local Consumers Choice cheepie shop and left to do my chores.
This is a multi purpose liquid, it comes in different frgrances, I chose Ocean fresh, I needed something fresh especially when facing the mens loos.
I put on the works Marigolds and set to work on the worst toilets ever, the mens!.
"Oh god, there was an enormous log in there", it's ... ...being sick, and chucked some Flash down the loo.
Whilst I was waiting for it to work, I started on the sink.
I poured a little bit around the sink and wiped round the bowl. The smell was delightful, it really did smell like Ocean's. Much better than the old Flash I used to know in the 80's.
It removed all residue quickly, I didn't even have to scrub hard, might have to do when i return to the loo's though.
Well as a matter of fact, the culprit ...

Advantages: easy to use, cleans floors in a errr Flash! Disadvantages: none
...used on the floor. Flash you read my mind!!
I was in absolute ecstasy when I found these in Sainsbury’s. ‘The fast and easy was to clean your floors’.
Flash products are made by Proctor & Gamble who make other well-known brands such as Pampers nappies, Ariel washing powder and Olay beauty products.
The wipes comes in a plastic package with a reseal able top, when you want one you just pull out a wipe and the others stay in place. There are 20 ... ...You can buy a flash express sweeper, although I haven’t seen any around yet.
The wipes can also be used alone; this allows you to wipe up spills effortlessly as the thickness of the wipe absorbs as well.
Having gone over the floor with the wipe, I find it dries a lot quicker than ordinary soapy water. It also leaves the floor looking clean with no visible smears. Flash wipes are suitable for most floor types, except carpet (obviously!)
I really ...

...and finally decided on the Flash WipeUps All Purpose refill pack. Now the reason I bought the refill pack rather than the plastic tub was simple really. There were more wipes in it, it was cheaper and the pack is resealable so I didn't feel the need to buy a tub just for the sake of it. Plus they would be stored in my cupboard so no one but me would see them anyway. The pack that I bought is bright yellow and similar in shape and size to most baby ... ...pack states: New Flash all purpose cleaning wipes easily clean all hard washable surfaces, leaving behind a fresh, clean scent. ...have just discovered the new Flash Shower Spray, and as the label says, you just spray and walkaway!!
Sure right you do, after you have used the shower, just spray all the areas, such as tiles, bath, shower, and shower curtain, basically all the parts that get wet and are prone to limescale / tidal marks.
This product reduces all limescale build up, especially as i live in a hard water area, I find this product excellent. There is no need to have ... ...Just like other flash products this definately lives up to the expectation you would expect, I have found that I don't have to scrub the bath/shower clean like I used to, and am hoping it will keep the shower curtain clean and fresh too.
Now I have discovered this marvellous time saving product I shall be using it all the time now!!!!!! ...

...my bowl of water – Flash All Purpose Cleaner which is made by Proctor and Gamble.
At the moment I am using the Ocean Fresh fragrance, which does smell really nice, but there are others namely Pine, Lemon and Pot Pourri. I paid somewhere in the region of £2.50 for a 500ml bottle. As with a lot of my purchases I usually wait until it’s on special offer and buy a couple at a time.
The instructions on the back of the bottle suggest that ... ...it really is a quick Flash in the kitchen!
The only other thing that I would say is remember to work towards the door of the room so that you can get out when you’ve finished and leave the floor to dry before anyone has to walk on it.
If you go away from the door you'll end up trapped in the corner waiting for the floor to dry!! I suppose it could be a good excuse if you're late for work? Maybe not! ...
