Well there I was searching the supermarket shelves for my usual kitchen cleaner (Mr Muscle) when 'shock horror' the slot where there usually are was empty! Ah well I thought I'll just have to try another - bet it won't be as good (see my Mr Muscle review!).

Scanning the shelves I spied a Flash product called Flash Spray with Bleach. It comes in a 500ml white plastic bottle with a red spray head at the top and a handy gun design for you to hold and spray it. It has an orange label with Flash written in yellow on it. The background picture is of a sparkling clean kitchen and bathroom. I paid £1.59 for my bottle from the Co-Op but I suspect Asda or Tescos have it cheaper!

When I got home I opened up the replaceable flip cap over the nozzle and began cleaning my old worktops. Now as my worktops are rather old they take something special to make it look as though they have been looked after and to date I have been very happy with Mr Muscle. So what is this stuff like then?

The spray gun works very easily and you don't have to be Mr Universe to operate the trigger. The spray comes out quite finely and there is no option to alter the type of spray. When the liquid hits a surface it is quite bubbly and frothy. Then all you do is wipe over the surface with a damp cloth and rinse over again when the surface is clean. Also, you don't need vast amount to do a good job - just a couple of quick squirts is all it takes to clean quite a large area of worktop. Well I think it is absolutely brilliant! I use it on my worktops and cooker hob and if there is a stubborn stain you just leave the spray to do its thing for a minute or so and then wipe away. The only down side I feel is that the smell of bleach is quite strong when you use the spray and it does tend to linger afterwards for a while. Maybe Flash could think about trying to mask this smell, but there is no doubt at all that it does an excellent job.

It is suitable to be used on cookers (allow to cool first), work surfaces and sinks and tiles. You are advised to rinse immediately after using it on metal, rubber and vinyl to avoid possible damage and to avoid use on worn or pitted appliance surfaces such as refrigerators, appliance lettering, painted or varnished surfaces and aluminium. Do not allow it to come into contact with clothes, carpets, textiles etc.

I choose to wear rubber gloves when I use it although there are no specific instructions on the bottle to do so. I found that if I don't then my hands smell of bleach for ages afterwards!

This product contains less than 5% chlorine based bleaching agent, so for those of you who don't want to use bleach then don't buy this!!

I for one will not be going back to Mr Muscle as I think this is a superb product, which has revitalised my kitchen.
