Advantages: 8 Car Mayhem! Disadvantages: A few annoying traits...
After owning the original and not enjoying it because of the handling aspects of the game, and the difficulty as a result of this, I was very reluctant to buy the second, but I saw it second hand for cheap and so picked it up anyway. There have been some significant changes since the first one, the handling of the cars has been improved- they now handle a bit more like an arcade game but at least you’re not skidding everywhere out of control. Also ... ...mysteriously given a load of credits to buy your first car, and as with most games you never even have to think about giving this back. The only cars you can afford are “derby” cars- these are generally the slowest toughest cars that can take a good beating.
As you progress, completing races, you can spend money on upgrading your car from exhausts to engines, these can increase your cars statistics, or in a few cases, like weight reduction, decrease ...

This means all in all that the NGC can push more Polygons faster and much better looking than any other machine out there and on a media format that can store 1.5 Gigabytes (bearing in mind most N64 games do 4 to 32 Megabytes less than a thousanth of what the NGC can do). Each machine is the result of three generations of consoles before it and all going well it should leave PS2 and the DC flat on their backs and at a Price of £130 you can hardly refuse.
For all of you PS2 fans out there you might like to know that this machine ports most of the decent PS2 titles as well as having the best 1st and 2nd party support...
