Advantages: cheap, easy to install & set-up Disadvantages: focus quality
difficult or highly amusing to your chat buddy on what he/she can actually see of you.
Aside to the live video streaming you can also take snapshots and save them as picture files, make short video clips (ideal for Granny in Aus at Xmas) and lots of other fun stuff should your kids want to get creative.
I would recommend this webcam for the beginner as it?s definitely not top of the range, is limited in what it can do but for £11.99 if you?re only going to use it on the odd occasion you can?t complain and it will perform how you want it to, but for the pro who isn?t camera shy, then opt for something a little more advanced that offer maximum features as it will be worth paying the extra for.
When I originally purchased my web cam I had the old-style monitor and so it sat quite happily up there and didn?t budge, but having upgraded my pc ...
Advantages: Small, Cheap, Easy to use, Good software bundle Disadvantages: Quirky install, Not the best resolution
.
The second application, WebCam Monitor, actually allows you to use the webcam as a security device, using basic motion detection in the software to spot when someone has intruded on the monitored space, resulting in an email of the culprit being sent to a nominated email address. This struggle becomes particularly apparent on sunny days, when the contrast in an outside scene, particularly if a view of the sky is included, makes it all but impossible ...
Advantages: look, works (lol) Disadvantages: size of instilliation download. (see review)
unfortunately doesn't have a built in microphone this particular one I bought for £20 which now I look back and thought what a rip-off because you can better now and then.
-*-*- Now you have purchased the cam?-*-*-
When I purschesed this webcam I got it in a box with an instillation CD which guided me through the step by step instructions and was very helpful for a beginner the web cam is USB1 so it fits most if not all PC's. And it is compatible with all Windows operating systems 95+ (Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, ME and XP.) Once you have initialised the CD then it comes inn your systray this consists of the settings (where you can adjust the brightness, contrast etc.) and it gives you your photo album (where you can view your saved photos and videos) and a camera where you can take photos and videos. If by any chance you lose the CD ??.(like me ...
