Swimming is an activity that I wanted to do with my daughter as soon as she had her first lot of injections, but what to take her in?
I obviously didn't want any little messes in the pool, I went to all the usual baby shops but could only find the disposable swimming nappies, this is something I had been advised not to get by a friend of mine, aparently they soak up almost the entire a pool making it feel like your holding a lead weight instead of your cute little baby, plus these things only came in huge sizes which was no good for my 09 week old baby.
I happened to pop into Boots where I came across there own brand of swim nappy, except this one was a re-usuable, allbeit in blue. The way this worked was it had a strong elastic around the legs and the waist part had a velcro strip that came around the side and then had a little ribbon tie at the front, thus making it impossible for any "accidents" to leak out. The swim nappy had a soft towelling on the inside and a waterproof covering on the outside.
Well all I can say was my little one is like a fish in the water and although can't swim yet, moves her arms and legs with lots of vigor that im sure she will be swimming soon.
I definately recommend these and just wish I could have found one in pink as Madison is always being mistaken for a little boy in the pool!!!

What a good idea - both in terms of the product and taking your little one swimming so early on. I had a fear of water for a long time as a child and am sure it would have been much improved if I'd started swimming earlier.

I use the huggies disposables, I intended to buy a reusable but never got round to it. We go swimming quite a lot so I probably should invest in one.

I've got one of these too. Mind you my eldest has grown out of it now but it is stored away for the youngest.
