Advantages: Cheap, nice appearance. Disadvantages: Some boards not cut perfectly straight so tricky to fit.
Easi-loc by name but not easi-loc by nature! The first two rows went down easily but trouble started on row 3. The problem was that not all the boards are cut entirely straight, which meant it was very difficult for adjacent rows to fit properly (some were very slightly convex and some very slightly concave). Over the whole floor, this caused slight gaps in either the middle or one of the ends to occur, and made it very difficult to get the boards ... ...whose facing edge would match the previous one (judging by eye). Also a lot of brute force to shove them together!
Fortunately, we had bought more boards than needed so we were able to select the best fit for each row.
If you buy this product, make sure you buy at least one or two spare packs.
All in all, a small room (8 x 11 ft) took two people nearly a whole weekend, but now it's down, it looks and feels fine. ...

Review of B&Q Flooring
...A friend of mine recommended karndean as an alternative as it doens't scrath and looks very realistic. I then went top me local retailer and was impressed by the look and feel but not the price i couldn't believe how much they wanted to charge me for such a small room!!! I sourced the products online and arranged the fitting with a local trader who did a fantastic job saving myself over £300 pound. Its been down for 6 months now and still looks brand ...

...but the installer recommended the Quick Step. He told her it was better flooring.
When he finished it was absolutly beautiful. It looked much more natural than the Pergo" my brother put in his place. She realy like the ease of care and she keeps her home spotless. After about 10-11 months it started to chip under her chair at the kitchen table. Then it stated to ripple at the seams. So we called the installer and he looked at it. He said he had ... ...his supplier look at it. It was tough to get him out there but he finaly came.
First he said that she must have gotten the floor wet.
Next he said that the house was improperly built and that the floor flexed to much.
then he said that it was improperly installed.
Then he said that her cat had caused it.
Ok , She used the recommended cleaner, she NEVER wet mopped the floor.
as for floor flex, no it's no more than any other floor, Oh yeah this ...

As I slouch through the kitchen for my hundredth time in one morning I actually notice the tiles beneath my feet, grubby and well past their sell by date. Never one to hold back on another DIY challenge I take baby monster to his favourite toy store....... Homebase.
Walking around the flooring area I realised I was going to be hard pushed to tile my kitchen on a budget, until I spotted the Essentials range, easy to miss in boring bland orange and ... ...box to walk on, I took a chance. There were several different patterns from blue to a wood effect. I chose 10 packs of "brick sand", (similar to natural and pale terracotta stones in a 9 tile mosaic effect) and considered my £22.90 very well spent. This worked out to be £2.29 per pack of 6 tiles which cover approximately 6sq.ft. They have a subtle sheen to them, reflecting light which is something my kitchen rather lacks. ...You can buy them from Ikea and they are ONLY delivered in packs. Each pack weighs 15 kgs and contains 9 planks. You can cover 2.39 sq. mts (25.8 sq.ft) with one pack. Each plank measures 138 cm x 19.3 cm; now you can make an approximate calculation of many planks or packs you would need to cover you floor. You will also get a guide sheet of how to lay the floor.

When we bought the Tundra flooring there was a discount on all laminate flooring ... ...floor laying kit available from Ikea and is pretty simple to use. You will also need plastic sheeting (also available at Ikea and is called Sparra sheeting) to be laid on concrete floors as a moisture barrier. Over the plastic sheeting, we will also need floor lining (available as Niva at Ikea) to be laid which is useful for levelling the floor, sound absorption and also insulation.
