I won a Flotation Experience in a competition run by Migraleve. The experience was organised by Red Letter Days, who I rang up to book it.The one available in Merseyside was in Lark Lane, Liverpool,by Sefton Park. After reading about flotation and it's benefits,I was really looking forward to it.I was hoping to forget my cares and worries, and aches and pains(at least for a little while) I went by train to St Michaels station(luckily I didn't drive as there was nowhere to park)and walked a short way up the road to the Equilibrium Centre. I had never been to Lark Lane before and found it to be a small, pleasant, oldfashioned road typical of the back streets of Liverpool. The shop was typical of the area, and the woman running the centre was pleasant enough. I was quite early getting there but the tank had already been warmed, so I didn't have to wait.I was taken to the back of the shop where the tank and showers facilities were.I was expecting the tank to be small and tank-like,but it was more like a sauna cabin. It was about 9 feet long,5 feet wide and around 8 feet high, and contained a solution of water and Epsom Salts to a depth of about ten inches. It was all totally private with no interruptions. They played relaxing music for ten minutes for you when you are ready to go in and again when it is time to get out.Inside the tank isn't completely dark, just a low light, and it isn't soundproofed either.I could hear voices coming from the shop.Relaxing was quite difficult,as the condensation caused drips to fall, and I was wondering which part of my body the next drip was going to fall on.Also my ears kept filling with water, even though I was using the neck pillow which was provided.Maybe if it had been totally dark and soundproofed,or if the music was played all the time it would have been better. Shampoo, shower gel and towels were provided but I had taken my own anyway. After showering and drying my hair I went back into the shop expecting to be offered a cup of coffee or something, but I was just asked if I had enjoyed it and more or less sent on my way, after asking for leaflets on their other treatments and therapies. They are also a Natural Therapy Centre. I was quite disappointed with what I was expecting to be an enlightening experience.Maybe this is a new venture for them and I presume they have had more success with their other treatments and therapies.

I really thought I wanted to try one of these but now I have read the reviews on here I am in 2 minds if I would enjoy it or not.
Sounds like something to be experienced at least.

Shame you had a not so good experience - I've tried it too elsewhere and there was no noise or condensation drips and strangely it was non claustrophonic - I guess that's only for when you get trapped on the tube or locked in a cupboard?
We know that spending an hour in a tank of water might sound at first like a David ... more
Blaine-style stunt - but in fact this experience is about total relaxation. You'll lie in a quiet, darkened room in a warm solution of Epsom salts, about 10 inches deep ...

Advantages: It's the most effective way I've found to relieve stress and back pain Disadvantages: If you don't live near a float center, you need to own one
