When deciding to treat myself to a new lawnmower I elected to give up the tradition of a push me pull me mower that had served me well for well over 10 years and opted for an easier to use Flymo, the only decision to make was which model from the very large range on offer.

When deciding to treat myself to a new lawnmower I elected to give up the tradition of a push me pull me mower that had served me well for well over 10 years and opted for an easier to use Flymo, the only decision to make was which model from the very large range on offer.
My local Wyevale garden centre had an offer on 2 versions of the Flymo in early spring and I chose the Vision COMP 330 mainly down to price which was reasonable at £119.99 and because it not only compacts grass in the collection chamber but it also has a viewing window with the compactor taking away the need for guesswork when it comes to emptying.
Powered by a 1400w motor the COMP 330 really does make cutting the grass easier. I have a lawn that is 20 X 40 foot and even though I don't let the grass grow that long even in damp or wet conditions the flymo with its 33cm blades just glides over cutting everything in its path. Depending upon the conditions I have the ability with the COMP 330 to adjust the grass length from 12mm to 33mm which means that just before my holidays I can cut it really short so I'm not faced ny a jungle when I return.
I cannot impress on the reader highly enough how easy it is to use. Our elderly neighbour had grass around 20cm in length and I ran over cutting it all as if it were really short, there was no struggle even though I had anticipated it taking me a good hour to do. The reailty was it took no longer than 10 minutes. The 30 litre grass compactor is ideal and only needs to be emptied once which rather than being fiddly is a case of unclipping, emptying and clipping back on.
The blade doesn't get clogged up even when the grass it wet so this makes cleaning really easy as long as it is done at the time of using. Leaving any damp grass to dry is a bad idea and this WILL result in a loss of performance.
With acceptable noise levels and dual handle controls making it suitable for left or right handed gardeners you really could do a lot worse for the price than the COMP 300. The only drawback is that I can't have stripes in my lawn anymore but considering the amount of time and effort saved it is something I can live without.
Advantages: relatvely easy to use Disadvantages: nose dives, takes up chunks of lawn and doesnt obey a straight line
...a skeptical review of my Flymo Vision Compact 330. The main reason i bought this product was the fact that it was a powerful, electric lawnmower which in thoer would be easier to maintain than an equivalent petrol one, with just the occasional blade replacement. I recently had my garden landscaped so there is no visible slope, in theory the flymo should glide over a surface like this but alas this is not the case, even on the flattest area of the ... ...sliding off course. Also the mower seems to spontaneously nose dive and come to a complete halt, giving the user a shock at the very least. The last scathing comment have is that the border around the blade and the depth of the storage compartment means that cutting an accurate distance from a tree or under a hede is almost impossible. The only advice i have for other consumers is: you neednt spend a vast aount of money to get a good lawn mower, ...

...there my opinion of the Flymo Vision Comp 330.It work great for long or short grass,as it has adjustable blades for the height of the grass. It as a long cord for to move around more in the garden for cutting. The best thing about a Flymo Vision Comp 330 is while your cutting the grass it has a built in bin that catches the grass,The bin is easy to empty it clicks of and on.It has a indicator on it to tell you when it is full. And the Flymo Vision Comp ...
