Foley is Good is the follow up to Mick Foley's Have a Nice Day (A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks) and brings the story of the life of the wrestler (as a person and a character in the WWF) up to date. The author speaks candidly about his time in the WWF, his past, the various tragedies and events that beset his career and the lives around him, and his feelings on the current state of the wrestling industry. He doesn't make out that the injuries he has suffered are any worse than they are, tells the truth about the way the industry works and why it works, and is more than open about the many injuries and deaths that have been associated with the "fake world of wrestling." Foley is Good is the follow up to the best selling autobiography, Have a Nice Day - The story of wrestler Mick Foley. I have already reviewed that book (not that anyone read it) and this is Foley's continuing story through the last two years since the first book finished. ...final years as a wrestler, Foley gives his insights into Theme Parks, Micky Mouse and what happens when a ghost writer tries to right a sport stars autobiography. Foley actually wrote both books on his own, this may be a guy who made a living out of getting beat up and hit with chairs but he is a very intelligent family man. To my mind this book was the epitome of what a biography should be, an honest account of a lifetimes events through the eyes and words of the biographical subject. Foley chose to open the book with a chapter about a rather gruesome event in his wrestling career, a detailed account of how he lost two-thirds of his right ...
...chapter in particular, is that Foley uses brackets to explain wrestling terms in laymens words. I expect this will be a good bonus to those reading who are unfamiliar with the wrestling business.
