Tesco Technology Needs Attention! Advantages: Generally a good service Disadvantages: Requires monitoring This is less of a review and more of a warning as an experience today made me think I should issue a quick alert to all online Tesco shoppers! Apart from the time several years ago when my Christmas order did not turn up and they claimed it had been stolen and would not resend, I have been generally happy with the service over the many years I have used it. Now I am the first to admit that I am quite slip shod when it comes to managing finances ... ...close scrutiny I should but today something jumped out at me! On 28th May Tesco had taken two identical sums from my account thus charging me £89 over the odds! Obviously I had been charged twice for the same order! The gent at Tesco Customer Services was quite helpful when I rang although it took a lot of holding the line and piped music before he agreed they had made a mistake, apologised and promised a refund. Asda is the top supermarket to shop at! Advantages: Great value for money, food, household appliances Disadvantages: On quite rare occasions, when searching for further information on product, it does not show Asda! I have been shopping online with Asda for two years and haven't been dissapointed yet! First of all, the website is easy to access, and when you do access it the search facility is prompt and finds you everything you could possibly want... and more! You have various possible time slots for your delievery, and the delievery is also always prompt. Asda smartprice quality is ace! And extremely cheap! In most circumstances I would find Asda Smartprice's ... ...brand, such as "Heinz". The Asda delievery staff are always very cheerful, very helpful and not once have I come across an unhelpful, miserable delievery person. Also, if you've ordered a 1kg of Beef worth £5.00, and you have a 1kg subsitute beef worth £10.00, you still only have to pay the £5.00 it's worth! You can't get better than that! The Asda delievery prices are OK, but after seeing the great prices you can get for food, it makes up for it ... tesco on line shopping - great Advantages: choose time and date to suit you Disadvantages: don't see full price, Tesco food shoppig on line is great as you can pick a day and a time that is convient for you - i always do it when the kids are not around so tey can not see wat i have bought. It is great that you are able to go back time and time again untill the day of delivery to add things that you reember about - not so good though that you have to wait to see if the price when multi save have been take off but you can return ny products with driver if you ... ...driver you can contact the by email or phone and they are very good - I emailed them because i was charged to much for an item as i t was on offer and i was refunded the difference in a day. Not a patch on Tesco.com groceries Advantages: One hour delivery slots Disadvantages: Poor customer care I am a big fan of internet grocery shopping as I find it saves me a great deal of time and hassle, and justify the delivery charge by the fact that I'm not using my car. After having used both Waitrose and Tesco for internet delivery and found them both good, I fancied a change and decided to try Sainsbury's. I found the navigation around the site good, and liked that I could select 1 hour delivery slots, they also have a decent selection of homewares ... ...very frustrating that I couldn't add notes to the items e.g. 'boy coloured toothbrush please' or 'milk dated to 30th please' and this caused me problems with delivery and I had to send items back and then trail out to the shops for the items I had had to return. constant struggle Advantages: I like Waitrose products Disadvantages: poor timekeeping. The company has markedly declined in the past year. Drivers come late consistently, often damaging groceries b/c they grab 7-8 bags together to avoid making more than one or two trips. One driver came 2 hours early (I was in a business meeting 10 miles away) and bullied my neighbors into letting him into our shared foyer -- and suggested leaving groceries. *It was Friday night, he wanted to finish work and go out.
