Experience the Greatest Job on Earth

Advantages: A fantastically fun and addictive game which will have you hooked
Disadvantages: You may not leave the house for months

...out and buy the latest football management sim from the almighty Sports Interactive on the day of release. This year was no different, and as soon as I finished work on the 18th of October I went straight for the shops to get my hands on Football Manager 2008 - a game I'd get to know very well in the weeks and months post-purchase. ...it and began to play. Football Manager 2008 is everything I had been expecting and more, the best computer game I have ever played to date. I often wonder how Sports Interactive and going to outdo themselves from season to season and worry some years that although the names and faces may change; the gameplay will not. So far, so good and as yet this has not happened. Each year, Football Manager continues to show it's worth and my annual spend of ... more

Becoming the gaffer.

Advantages: Addictive, simple to play, appeals to all ages.
Disadvantages: Obviously a lot if you dont like football. Probably too addictive.

Football manager 2008 claims to be the most realistic football management simulation. I have to say it most certainly is, no other football game can even compare.Distributed by Sega, but it is Sports Interactive that is the main driving force behind the game. Sports interactive are the research team behind the game. You can find out anything about nearly every club in the world. Ground capacitys, players names, coaches names, player contracts and ...
...how so many players on Football Manager are unheard of until you play the game, then in real life they end up at one of the worlds top clubs and go on to be stars, again all down to the extensive research. As manager you have plenty of responsibiltys, exclude the obvious ones like picking the team and buying selling players. You can approach the board for a bigger transfer kitty, set wage and transfer budgets, ask for improvements to the stadium ...

Addictive, still the best, just a little harder!

Advantages: Addictive, great depth and detail, great gameplay, good improvements
Disadvantages: Harder, and possibly more frustrating than previous FM games

...life is about to become Football Manager addicted all over again. I received emails off Sega on the lead up to the release of this classic update in the series, and heavily anticipated it's coming. And now, finally, it is in my clutches. So, how does this release compare. Well, the obvious is the new features. There are a whole host of them, including: * A new transfer centre to aid and quicken all incoming/outgoing deals. * A finer detailed ...
...and improvement of the whole football manager engine; the updating of all teams and players, which is always first class when it comes to Football Manager, period. Personally, I haven't used the transfer centre much, as I'm too set in my ways from the old system, but its a nice added feature. The confidence improvement, on the other hand, has aided me well. Rather than confidence updating every so often, it now seems a lot more fluent. A yellow/green ...

FM08 has ruined my social life ;-)

Advantages: Totally realistic, so much detail, addictive
Disadvantages: Some minor errors and annoyances

...are back and the infamous Football Manager is more realistic and better than ever. for the 2007/2008 season. The game is the most realistic football managing experience that has ever been created. It offers you the chance to take control of a football club (and international team). There is so many teams to chose from over 5,000 teams in over 50 countries. There is an extensive database of over 300,000 players and staff worldwide. The game has so ...
...realistic and most in depth football management game and the new features improve, what was already a fantastic game. I think the overall difficulty of the game has increased, but this makes it more realistic. The only thing that I recommend is that it needs to be given time, especially by users who are used to previous versions. The skin and layout may be hard to get used to but after time you will adapt and you won't have any problems. Definitely ...

It's another screamer from the FM Series

Advantages: Hours of fun
Disadvantages: Amount of goals disallowed & few glitchs

Another season, a new football manager for the collection, but how does it fare with previous game? Well this one really does live up to the hype. ==========Gameplay========== The gameplay it self is an improvement on last year as was expected after it was announced the match engine was going to be revamped. There are some areas which have clearly been revamped and others that clearly have not however. On the plus side of this it is much more realistic ...
...as with the last few football manager games in the series just but what the commentry is saying. As results go I haven't had too many high scoring games unlike previous years, my highest win is 4-1 and high scoring game 6-3 but I have seen one 10-0 but these look a very rare thing of the past at last. One very annoying thing that has suddenly sprung up at me during this new installment is the amount of goals that are disallowed. The new skin is at ...

Football manager on computer

Advantages: Good controlling options
Disadvantages: graphics could be improved

Football manager 2008, i throughly enjoyed this game. I feel that it gives you a good choice of players and countries and clubs to manage and look at. It had almost up to date information, it was missing some of the latest players but beggars cant be choosers. The game allows to to make transfers, i feel that the clubs dont sell the players as easily as they normally would. - What's New? - When comparing this game to Football Manager 2007 and it's ...
...order to enjoy this fantastic football management sim. You will however need to have at least 750MB of hard drive space available, 256MB of RAM, a 1.2GHz processor, and must be using either Windows XP or Vista as an operating system. In this day and age this is not a massive ask and most laptops and computers will meet this criteria. In Conclusion Football Manager 2008 is bigger and most certainly better than ever, and I would reccomend this game ...

FM 07

Advantages: Team Talk, Easy-to-Use editor
Disadvantages: Players get Upset Easily

Football Manager 2007 is still my favourite managerial game on the market. This is mainly due to the fact that 'Football Manager 2008' did not work properly on my PC (most of the menus were missing) and I have not been out to buy 'Football Manager 2009' yet. In this edition of the game, the 'Team Talk' is introduced for the first time. This is a great addition to the game I feel, because it gives you greater influence on the mood of your players and can also influence the result of matches. You can either be hailed for an inspirational team talk by your players and media or make your players feel concerned for the lack of praise you give them. If you choose to tell the team to' play like this in every match' instead of telling them their 5-0 win was 'sensational' then players become slightly concerned. The layout to this game ...

Football Manager 2007 - PC

Advantages: Faster than 2005 & 2006
Disadvantages: Cant buy players which your team have bought in real life

This is the BEST football managment simulation for PC. This game makes you feel like a real football manager. This game allows you to manage any team in over 50 countries and you can buy any of 290,000 players on the game (depending on database size). Football Manager 2007 has improved due to scouting allowing you to be told about the best players which your club can attract. You can do pre match and full time team talks, along with talking to the press before and after the game. The game is faster than 2005 & 2006 as they have made the game more compressed. This game is much better than Championship Manager and shocks do happen as i beat Chelsea 3-0 with Sunderland and i only bought Anelka. This game is the best football managment simulation on PC to date and is very addictive. You will be on this game for months until 2008 ...
