Don't buy a 2.5 before you read this! Advantages: Roomy, comfortable, fast, economical Disadvantages: There's no BMW badge on the front... The 2.2TDCi addresses the only weakness with the 2.5 petrol - fuel consumption. Dont touch with a very long stick Advantages: When it runs, it is a nice drive Disadvantages: Can not be relied on. Always breaks down In Short, the most unreliable car I have ever had. Good for a company car Advantages: Very comfortable, heated/cooled leather seats, lots of torque, great MPG Disadvantages: Still quite diesel noisy, stalls easily when pulling away. This is not a car I would ever get myself but it is acceptable if offered by companies. Better of with an ST220 Advantages: Quiet, cheap to run (fuel aside) Disadvantages: Rather dull to drive, run of the mill car Mondeo, simple, does what it should, can it be exciting though?
