What's the piont of the C-max?...Let me explain
Advantages: Good mpg, loads of space, great driving position Disadvantages: Look a bit plain, a little boring!
My previous car was a 1.8TDCI 'standard' Focus. It was a great car. I had it for 3 years and it was completely reliable, I didn't have a single problem with it. It was however, a 3 door Zetec model and with the arrival of our daughter, it wasn't quite practical enough…. I needed something with a bit more boot space and 4 doors. So, after looking at various other options, I ended up with a C-max 1.6 TDCI Zetec. So what's the verdict……..
Well, it ... ...still a reasonably competent engine and it doesn't feel underpowered. Once more, I have found I'm getting significantly more mpg that the old car. I'm currently averaging 46mpg on my journey to work whereas I used to struggle to get above 40.
Inside, there's a more pleasing dash than before, I think generally the finishes are higher quality, eg chrome eternal door handles rather than the old plastic ones. Equipment levels are better too, it has ...

Non Roadworthy C-Max
Advantages: Good road view Disadvantages: Kept cutting out
The Ford Focus C-Max, was a very disappointing experience for me, as the Vehicle that I had was in the garage on 17 occasions. Each time I took the car back to the garage they told me that there was nothing wrong with it.
On the day I was about to collect the car from the dealer, I received a phone call not to collect the car as there was a dangerous fault and it was not roadworthy. This sound have sounded alarm bells, and I should never have taken ... ...day duty after coming out of the hospital car park, my steering went, and I had to call out the RAC, the gentleman that came out spent almost 2 hrs running tests, and things went from bad to worse.
The gentleman from the RAC towed the Vehicle back to the garage, for them to repair it. For the next first week I was without a car, and the garage never told me I could get the lend of a car for the time it was with them for repair.
I eventually received ...

GOOD FAMILY CAR
Advantages: LOTS OF SPACE Disadvantages: SLOW TO TAKE OFF
I bought a c-max once i started my family, what attracted me was the fact that not many people had this style of car on the road, it felt unique to me. The car has three seats in the back which can be taken out to give you a very large boot. I have my car seat in the back and there is still pleanty of room for two other peple to sit with pleanty of leg room for them. The boot itself is of a good size, it fits my pram plus all my shopping with no ... ...height, which is good if you are on the small side, I love the fact that it has your controls for your music on the actuall steering wheel, which is very handy if you are like me and are constantly changing the songs. At night when you switch your headlights off your incar lights automatically come on and they do not go off untill you lock your car, which is good as it creates a much less chance of draining your battery. When you use your fob to ...

The Focus C-Max 1.8 LX
Advantages: good reliable small family vehicle Disadvantages: none as yet
...and still is, an avid Ford fan, at present driving a Focus 1.6 zetec.
I had taken a few cars out on test drives, such as the galaxy and the Mondeo, I even test drove a Zifira, even though it had the hated Vauxhall logo on the front.
The mondeo was top of my list for space and drive until i jumped behind the wheel of the Focus C-Max. This is a family car with everything one requires.
To drive one of these is a pleasure in itself with the power ... ...position, slightly further forward than the norm, almost positioned on the dash-board.
The space around you is excellant, with more headroom than the taller of you really need and seats which scream comfort on every corner.
There is plenty of space for the kids in the back with loads of leg room so less kicking the back of your seat.
The boot space is plenty enough for the family suitcases on a long haul and can be accessed from inside the car ...

My second ever car
Advantages: Comfort. Economy. Disadvantages: Looks
I find the Ford Focus CMAX 1.6 TDCi Trend to be an excellent all round car. The driving position suits both my wife and myself, with enough adjustment for both of us. Fuel economy is quite remarkable, if you drive with that in mind. Most of our journeys are 3 miles to town cold, and 3 miles back on twisty undulating roads. Not economical driving conditions, and the car returns around 40 mpg. On long runs it returns around 60 mpg. If you want a bit ... ...is clever, and would accomodate 4 adults fine. I bought this as a replacement for a Focus estate, and I do prefer it. I stuck to the Focus because the last one never went wrong, and I hope this one doesn't either. I can't really fault it, but if I had to, I'd say that I don't really like it's looks. ...
