I recently bought one of these older model Ford estcorts, to repair with my friend and sell on, in the hope of making a profit. On the outside this car looked pretty good, and for a 'B' registration it's engine ran like a little sweety. The bodywork all-in-all was pretty good for a car of its age, but if you are planning on buying one of these make sure you look under the battery, the battery tray and mountings rust away and disintigrate into nothing within a few years. Also make sure the seems around the inner wings are strong as they rust a lot around the edges. They can be really reliable cars, but only if you look around and find the right one for you.
I hope this has been of help to you. Thanx.

Well I must say, you got a good car for a small amount of money. At the `B` reg stage (probably 1984) you were lucky the whole car had not rusted away. I've seen many a car 10 years its junior rusted to bits. You don't get much car for a couple of hundred pounds.
