I have had my Escort for 8 years, it has never let me down. Considering that I am not an enthusiastic car washer, the body work is in good condition. Other people seem to like my car as it has been driven into on 3 occasions, luckily the offenders have come clean and the repairs are undetectable. I find it comfortable to drive and I am only just over 5ft tall, it is easy to handle and I never feel it is too big for a small lady. I would sometime like to get a new Ford, I quite like the Fusion, but I don't really want to part with my Escort especially as the prices for secondhand cars has plummeted, good news for first time buyers, but bad news for owners who would like to move on. My escort is worth far more to me than it's present forecort value would suggest. I have never regretted purchasing it and wish Ford had continued to upgrade and produce the Escort.

It sounds like you look after your car well. Upholstery wear can be down to incorrect driving posture but the seats were not the most comfortable! If you want to upgrade look at the new Fiesta or second hand ones. Models from 2000 onwards can be picked up at good price and may still have Ford warrenty left. Push for between 800 and 1300 for your Escort or sell privatly first.

Our Ford Escort crashed into a deer on the New Forest, so we have a Mondeo now. Deer are BIG animals...
Advantages: Parts are cheap, and the different types of engine seem endless. Disadvantages: Geting on a bit now and you may have trouble when it comes to your M.O.T

Advantages: No timing belt (1.3 only) - cheaper to maintain, Lots of parts and garages around. Many models, colours to choose from a many different prices/ages. Disadvantages: Common, everyday car
