Advantages Economical & fun to drive will save you lots of money on fuel

Disadvantages may put ladies off due to rust and noisy tappets & cheap mods. so change those tappets

When i bought this car, i thought- yeh ok looks alright

Was expecting it to be noisy and full of rust when i bought it for £165 with 1 months tax and mot

But rusty it was not! And rattly yes it was

Came with 86,000 miles and had very black oil

I have never owned a car so good on fuel. (i have owned 4 diesels)

Did a full service on her and changed the thermostat too

Its not like the new ford focus where elecronic sensors everywhere but its basic,fun to drive, you feel the road and the car goes great

All you need to do is do regular servicing and put new tappets in and tourque them up.

put my foot down and the car goes like a little racing car ;)

when you buy it press your fingers into the sills and check underneeth. Mine had no rust underneeth what so ever.

These always burn oil so dont worry about that because its normal for them.

check seat mounts at the front of the car

The little 1.3 high compression swearl engine is a good one so dont be put off by some noise and a bit of smoke.

overall buy one but be careful out there

    Thats why you should always do a check on them before you buy :) i wil tell you one thing. £3.95 is all worth it! yeh i liked my old one but couldent afford next mot...

    I had one of these some years back. Got it second hand from a local garage who had taken it in part exchange, was a great car. It had been tinkered with, fitted with alloys and given twin exhausts etc...but it had to go as it turned out the previous owner was well known to the local police and I kept getting pulled by them!...A bit embarassing for a middle aged lady.....but I loved that car!
