Ford Escort

My opinion on the Ford escort.

Advantages: its a Ford.
Disadvantages: its aa older car now.

My mum has a Ford escort zetec-e 1.6 car which she has had for about 2 years now. It has be a great car and passed all its MOT's sofar,i've always liked ford escort because their a big car with lots of space but are still cheap to run. The only thing now is they are old and stoped making them in 2003. my favorite one is the Ford Escort GTI 1.8L it looks good and sounds good. but for me to much on the insurance but my mum's one is good its a (N) ...

Ford Escort Eclipse 1.3

Advantages: Extras
Disadvantages: Power, electric window switches

I owned a Ford Escort Eclipse 1.3 (H plate) for around 2 years. I used to do 50 miles a day in it during this time and so I am in a position to comment on its reliabilty and driveablity. The pros of this car were that it was the last in that particular model that were produced so it came with electric windows, metallic paint, a sunroof, body colour bumpers and a spoiler. Ford Escort 1.6 SI

Advantages: Outstandng reliability
Disadvantages: Rust and Rot Very easy and has a very poor euro ncap safety rating

Ford Escort 1.6 SI I have had my escort for 9 months and purchased it from a lady who had the car for 6 years and travelled just 20,000 miles over 6 years and came with lots of history. Escort Estate 1.6 Zetec

Advantages: Very cheap for spares
Disadvantages: Because its an old car it does not benefit from the lower tax bracket £176 per year!

This has been a lovely first car for me.. When things go wrong most garages can help you out as parts are very common. It is very cheap and easy to upgrade/change parts of the car to suite your requirements. I would recommend this to first time buyers or anyone wishing to take advantage of the large boot (which is even bigger if you put the back seats down)! I`ve owned a black 1988 series 2 for 9 years now and it just keeps getting better. Every year they bring out faceless, soulless plastic cars and the RST just looks better. It`s so tuneable and 200 bhp is easily achievable on the series 2 as they were de-tuned from the factory for road use. All you need is a new fuel management chip (Ahmed Bayjoo chips are by far the best), a -31 actuator to increase the boost (series 2`s can easily handle 1 bar( ...
