I have owned my Ford Fiesta 1.4 16v since last June. My particular model is a 3dr, which is more rare in this Ghia specification.
Features include:
- Leather seats - Air Condition - CD player - iPod connection (optional extra) - Automatic lights - Automatic windscreen wipers - Electric folding wing mirrors - 6x2 Spoke 15" alloy wheels - Front fog lights - Chrome effect front grill - Trip/MPG/Miles to empty computer - Steering wheel height adjustment
Technical points - Petrol - 5 speed gearbox - Insurance group 5 - CO2 147 g/km - £125 tax a year - 12,500 mile service intervals - 80 BHP - 0-62: 12.3 secs - 45 litre fuel tank
The car is a great little run around in town, and is very easy to park. Through 1st, 2nd and 3rd it is very nippy, so is the perfect town car. However, it also holds up well on the motorway, accelerating well in 5th to overtake the car in front.
It is extremely comfortable with the leather seats, and it is also great fun to drive. With the Fiesta, you often hear car journalists talking about its driveability, and you don't quite understand it until you actually drive it. It is so chuckable in the corners and always puts a smile on my face when I drive it. I had another Fiesta before this one, and I can honestly say this one handles even better, and that one wasn't bad either.
The interior is a reasonably nice place to be. The plastics are a bit cheap in places, but the centre console is well layed out and clear. This model comes with a good CD player which withstands punishment from my music, as well as A/C and iPod connection. This Ghia model also includes automatic lights and wipers. After having these on this car I now wouldn't have a car without them. In my opinion they are really helpful and a feature that is often seen on much more expensive cars.
The dash is well layed out and clear, with the tachometre on the left and MPH on the right, with the temperature and fuel gauges in the middle in a smaller form. The computer is also a handy feature, offering MPG, miles to empty, and the usual trip computer.
There are some small disadvantages which include the small(ish) boot. It isn't tiny, but there are cars of this size with larger boots. Furthermore, the rear seats don't fold flat and again there are cars in this sector with rear seats that do fold flat. However, I think there are minor blemishes on a great, compact car. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

This isn't a car I have ever used ~ what sort of expenses are there for servicing and how easy is it to get parts? ~ how often do you need to do things like change oil ~ what are the things that are likely to go wrong? Have you had this from new? or is it second hand . . . I guess the questions I ask aren't what everyone wants to know, but they are what my husband always asks me, so a review to be very helpful needs to include what he wants to know . . . . ♥ jes ♥
Advantages: Great fuel economy, FAST acceleration, excellent top speed, Great all round small car! Disadvantages: Lack of CD player (although CD Changers can be fitted), No Air conditioning, sunroof doesn't completely open - unless you take it off and put it in the boot!
