... Leather seats to boot!!
Ford have never made a supermini this good. One important tip though is to only buy the very punchy 1.6tdci. The 1.4tdci is slow and actually worse on fuel economy in comparison to the bigger but slightly more frugal 1.6tdci. Cracking value for money... Read review

Bought a pre-reg 2008 57 plate with delivery miles for £9799. List of nearly 14k!!! would be a bit steep but a bargain at the price I paid! After vowing never to buy another ford 7 years ago, I test drove one of these and it was instantly sold to me. It was a three way split decision for me between this, a Seat Ibiza 1.4td ecomotive and the new 1.4d Mazda2. Seat had the fuel economy, good ride but cheap feel to the build. Mazda was fantastic ride, well built (it is on the new fiestas chassis) but underpowered. The Fiesta though, was surprisingly well built, very nippy, handled very well and came with many more toys for the price!!! Only down side is that this mark is 6 months from being changed (but this only matters to the fashion concious) But this is also a major plus as the deals you can get are far far better than the competition. Leather seats to boot!! Ford have never made a supermini this good. One important tip though is to only buy the very punchy 1.6tdci. Perfect so far.

I bought a Ford Fiesta 1.6TDCi Zetec S in October 2006 from my local dealer. 2 years later I am still delighted with the purchase. Mine is Sea Grey, which suits the car shape and style perfectly and has full leather seats and heated front screen as extras. The heated screen was £100 option and has been worth every penny, especially in the winter months.
In terms of perfromance there are no complaints. The car is a little sluggish in low revs 1st ... ...has fantastic, big car power.
The ride is comfortable at any speed and the car is at ease on motorways and country roads alike.
One of the key positives for me are some of the running costs. Just £35 for 12 months tax and well over 50mpg fuel economy with a tank giving me between 440-480 miles.
I've not had a single problem or issue with this car and am still loving it. Had the option to trade up for a new shape fiesta but couldn't bring myself ...

Advantages: Great to Look at. Good to Drive. A Quality Fiat. Disadvantages: It May Well Depreciate More Than Most. Dealers
thorough test drive carried out at the Millbrook Proving Ground as a participant at the Company Car in Action event back in the summer.
Fiat are very keen to promote this particular range into the fleet market, judging by the numbers of Grande Punto's that I am seeing on the roads in the south east of England, it looks as though they have been very successful at doing just that!
COSTS
Fiats have never been expensive to either purchase or to run. With a Co2 level of 154 and an insurance group of 6, bearing in mind this cars performance potential, the standing charges i.e. tax and insurance, are going to be affordable.
According to "What Car" the Fiat Grande Punto Sporting will cost you 38.4p per mile overall to run. By comparison a similarly priced, but less powerful, FordFiesta1.6TDCi Zetec would cost 33.8p per mile ...
Advantages: Quick, spacious, comfortable, economical, and cheap! Disadvantages: Still marred by it's name
to be cheap to run whatever you did to it. As a fairly agressive driver I was getting around 56 mpg which I think could be beaten by a more conservative driver.
Now, so far it hasn't offered a great deal that may woo you from the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Corsa or the Polo's and Ibizas of the world. Though whilst all of these do come with 5 doors and diesel engines as one of the offered specifications, there aren't many who could rival the price tag. Just over £11500 will get you a brand new one of these. Compared to it's rivals... with same specifications unless otherwise stated.
VW Polo - £13500
FordFiesta - £12500 (1.6TDCI engine)
Vauxhall Corsa - £13700 (1.7 CDTI engine)
Renault Clio (106bhp model) - £13600
Peugeot 207 - £13550 (1.6 HDI model)
The next cheapest model with the same technical specification was the Ford, which ...
FordFiesta Ghia 1.4 TDCi 5dr
Background I have owned my 2004 FordFiesta1.4 TDCi since it was 6 months old and have traveled at the time of writing (OCT 2007) 25000 miles though the car has done 30000 in total. The car lacks in one area, which is acceleration, however, this does not detract from a 5-star rating because if you're purchasing a diesel at this price point you should be doing it for the excellent economy - not for super fast performance...
The Drive The car is great fun to drive, and surprisingly nippy round town, the handling feels safe and secure and corners neatly. It is not a performance hatchback so don't expect to be 'burning-off' your average family saloon on a head to head, however the car has a respectable top speed (102mph) and cruises quite nicely on motorways at 70. Not as smooth as larger ...
