Ford fiesta a great economic car

Advantages Cheap to run, good spec, handleing, good motorway drive
Disadvantages not many(if any)
I like my Fords I have had 3 a focus and two fiestas and never had a problem (best touch some wood now) at all this is the third fiesta I purchased.
I bought the fiesta to replace a fiesta, which was the last of the old generation; I purchased the car for my wife who travels a long distance daily at least 60 miles a day.
The car she had before was a .25 zetec, which were good but not that good on fuel it being a small engine pounding the motorway was quite thirsty so I opted or should I say I advised we get a diesel.
I have a diesel focus zetec and it is great on fuel, having had the car for two weeks we have had to only put half as much fuel in as before on the older car.
In a two week stint it used to have fuel put in at least twice, a tank a week this new 1.4 diesel fiesta only requires a fuel up once in two weeks.
Bare in mind this is 60 miles a day for 10 days then there was a little left in the tank but only a drip.
So the economy is excellent and will help at least a third to a half of the cars monthly payment.
The fiesta itself is the LX it comes with power steering air conditioning and a good cd player, the interior is robust and comfortable.
The interior is cream grey with a two tone black and cream dashboard, it is stylish and ergonomic.
When night driving the dash has a green backlight with red pointers for the rev counter and speedometer.
The Milometer, fuel gauge and temperature gauge are digital, which is a nice modern touch, and I believe more accurate.
The design of this fiesta is excellent, having a focus which is larger you can compare room inside, the driving position and passenger space are second to none it is a roomy little car.
I am 6 foot 2 and have loads of legroom and headroom in the back so I have no doubts I could travel a long distance in this car comfortably.
It seems to be designed for a least four adults which explains the roominess, saying this it doesn't take away from the boot space either which is for a little car quite big.
You could fit 2 big suit cases in fine, and the seats adjust to make it into a little van with the seats down you could fit a bike easily or a large table etc.
As for the handling and drive the fiesta is renound for its comfort and agility, on this new model none of this is lost, you can confidently throw the car into corners and emerge with ease.
The design is in essence a little Focus, which means the car, will fare well, as the focus is well designed and robust.
The car is a 2002 registered car and cost £ 5500 with a low 23000 mileage, which is good for a diesel, baring in mind this will shoot up because of the mileage we do.
The fiesta is low group 4 insurance to so this also saves on running expense as does the lower bracket Tax.
To service the car fully i.e. a 10000-mile service is a standard £200 to £280 at the ford dealership so in the entire car is cheap to run.
The car also has dual airbags and a good standard ford alarm for the safety and security concious, which I believ should be the standard norm these days.
I would recommend this car for anyone needing cost efficient motoring with its great design and flawless economics and standard compared to rivals I would choose no other.
A great little car.

Good review. It's a nice car I drove one during my pass-plus. I disagree with you on the digital fuel guage though, it isn't progressive like analogue ones. Ford have in fact reverted back to analogue for the facelift models.
