Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec
Advantages: A great car from all angles Disadvantages: Not as many extras included as I would have liked
...the proud owner of a ford focus 1.6 zetec and for the first time in many years I have actually found a car that pretty muc suits all my needs.
I have spent many a time in cars that are too big, too small, not suitable, not comfortable etc but this is everything I could ask for. I own the three door version but the doors open widely and when the front seat is moved forward there is plenty of room to get anyone in the back, even my mother in law who ... ...really go wrong with a Ford. Reliability is excellent and if anything does go wrong then you know Ford parts are pretty cheap to get hold of.
Im personally really pleased with this car for the money. Cheap to run, insure and tax. Great reliability and a lovely drive. ...

Focus 1.8 TDCi - a great not so little car
Advantages: Fantastically economical for its class Disadvantages: High torque from engine can be expensive on tyres
I've had a Focus 1.8 TDCi for a little over a year, following a two year stint from a Fiat so I may be a little over enthusiastic about the Focus! However, I've been driving for over 20 years (Oh God that long...) and have driven a silly number of cars over this time.
I think I've found a car I finally can settle with for at least the rest of the finance term!!! Which is unusual as I get bored very quickly!
The feel of the car overall is one of ... ...some larger cars and you really can have the confidence in the motor to pull hard when you need it.
Inside, the car feels roomy for its class and the seats seem to hug you quite nicely. I used to have to sit at a slight angle in many of my older cars to reach pedals and steer yet in the Focus I can sit in a relatively normal position and be comfortable even on a long journey.
I don't drive like a loony but the car is responsive, easily controlled ...

Focus 1.8 excellent family car
Advantages: Bigger boot than previous model Disadvantages: Could do with a bit more leg room in the back
This is the second ford focus we have owned and as a medium sized car its excellent. It handles well in all weather conditions and feels so easy to drive rather than a battle. There is plenty of leg room in the front (my other half is well over 6') There is plenty of room in the back for three booster seats. The boot space has increased on this model compared to the last which has been a great advantage so can easily fit in pushchairs and all other ...

Focus 2.0 Ghia estate Feb 06
Advantages: well built solid dependable cruises all day long at above national averages Disadvantages: some interior trim creeks but hey the car speakers are good!!
...perfectly and it has 6 Ford service stamps. Ive just had it serviced myself and no problems disagnosed. They commented on what a good car it is. The bonnet has shown its fair state of stone chips but a 150 spray will put that right. Even the cruise control still works! Compared to my 22,000 330D Msport that I was running around in a year ago - too costly to run - this car is a myrical!!
I actually got offered by a car supermarket today more money ... ...for once in car land I'm quids in.
The auto box seems to jerk when youre coming stationary from 2nd to 1st but again Ive put that down to a trend of the vehicle as opposed to anything wrong.
I have another year left on the warranty in any case - £1,000 limit so if anything goes wrong fine. The warranty is with AA taken out post purchase. ...

A wagon for the masses
Advantages: Cheap to run and insure, cheap parts, reliable, an all round great car Disadvantages: The speedo dropping is a known problem - don't pay too much to get it done though
****Specifications****
The Ford Focus 1.6i Zetec is a five door hatch back with a 1596cc fuel injected petrol engine. The engine makes 99.2 bhp and 106lbs of torque at 4,000 rpm. It is 4,152mm long, 1,998mm wide and 1,430mm high.
I have not bothered to list the full specifications since these can be obtained from many different websites.
****Looks****
I actually like the look of the Focus, although it is down to personal preference and I appreciate ... ...more.
****Problems****
The ford Focus has a massive flaw with the speedo and dash and it seems exceptionally common throughout the model range. Those that have not experienced any problems with this should count themselves lucky since they are in the minority.
Coming form a ‘Ford’ family both of my sisters, and myself have a Focus and we have all experienced the same issue. Whilst driving there are times that the speedo needle will drop to zero, ...
