I bought my Ford Focus Zetec as I needed a family 5 door car. The zetec is in the higher end of the model range and often as mine does, comes with uprated extras over the base models. My car came with a 'Climate Pack'. This is a combination of air conditioning, heated front windscreen, heated mirrors and heated washer jets. These are excellent features in the winter months and save valueable minutes in a morning defrosting the car.
I personally think the Focus is a sexy looking car, I didn't realise until I bought mine that every other car on the road seems to be a Focus. Not that this bothers me, but if your are after an individual car then the Focus is not for you.
The Ford Focus Zetec model cames with front and rear fog lights and electric headlight levelling, so you can change the height of the beam from the inside whilst driving. The front windows and wing mirrors are also electric and are operated from a button on the driver side door. The Zetec model comes with alloy wheels and a spare space saver wheel in the boot.
The seats are grey with a basic pattern on them. They are extremely comfortable to sit in. The drivers seat is height adjustable and both front seats backrests recline. There are three full seat belts in the rear and each seat has a full size head rests.
The dash lights up green when the lights are turned on and has a dimmer switch, so you can have it as bright or as dark as you like. The centre console has two cup holders and some storage space at the back along with a little ashtray. The glove box provides a lot of storage space which is one of the focus' best features. The hatchback shape means that the boot is nice and deep and has folding rear seats for extra space. This boot can fit my Graco travel system push chair in which my old car (a Rover 25) could not. The boot can be opened by pressing a button on the key fob or by pressing the button on the dashboard. I am not used to this and forget to unlock the boot before I try to open it, I'm sure I will get used to it but is a bit annoying at the moment.
The Focus Zetec comes with a stylish CD player with steering wheel controls. Very handy when you have children in the car requesting the same song on again and again. The sound quality from the speakers if very good and can be turned up loud with out any extra vibrating noises.
The 1.6 engines are smooth running and are powerful enough for most everyday journeys. Ford Focus services are every 12000 miles or every year depending on how much you drive. Ford charge approximately £200 for a major service, so it's not too expensive to keep the car running.
My Ford Focus comes with ABS, making the brakes very effective. The handling on the Zetec is excellent, the car really grips the road around the tight bends. The cars power steering makes manoeuvring and parking easy.
The car comes with driver and passenger front airbags as standard along with three point seatbelts on both the front and rear seats. The focus comes equipped with remote central locking with the double locking feature if you press the 'lock' button twice. The insurance is very reasonable, with the 1.6 being insurance group 5. This car is resonable to fill up a full tank costs £40-45 and gets you about 300-350 miles.
There are child locks on the rear doors (on the 5 door model) to stop children opening the doors from the inside.
I would recommend this car to anyone looking to buy a family 5 door car that still feels sporty for when the children are not aboard.

It really amazes me why consumers dont buy the saloon version - costs cheaper to buy secondhand cos theyre not so popular but I thnk they are extremely classy looking and have a massive boot. VG review here though.
