The Fusion is a neat and tidy car. Nothing flash or fancy. My local Ford dealer tried to rip me off for a second year so a bit of shopping around found a good dealer in Bexley. Beating the previous quote by over a grand.

I was more than happy with the CD player with the traffic alert radio. And the summer essential for the hayfever sufferer – Air-Conditioning! Ah bliss!
It is a much bigger driving experience than a Fiesta. It took me a fair few months to get back to hugging roundabouts rather than straddling two lanes.
The features are pretty good. The CD player is good quality as is the radio. The electric windows work well, as do the electric side mirrors. A really great feature is the huge boot. With the low rear bumper you can actually sit in the boot. Not everybody’s want I know but great when you are waiting for the wife and her shopping!
Nice yellow highlighting on the important engine parts such as oil filler and water filler. All the release handles are a sensible size and well placed.
Very nice cargo net in the boot that also secures that shopping – and the wife if you feel so inclined.
There are two front airbags, which I have yet to use and hopefully never will.
Dashboard layout is good, everything is easily visible and all controls are intuitive. Loads of ‘secret’ space to hide the valuables. Under the front passenger seat is a compartment, which is huge. The glove compartment holds my dozen CD’s, A-Z and pen with ease. There is a dashboard compartment that seems useful but it is metal and VERY black. In the middle of the summer you could cook eggs in it with ease. My brother-in-law had a pair of sunglasses crack in there last summer. Be warned. Loose change is best.
The fan is very powerful especially when used with the Air Conditioning. But words of warning, the symbols are about 5 degrees out with the pointer on the knob. So if you have cold air on your face in the summer it also is hitting your left ankle. A bit of trial and error finds the optimum position but this seems to be standard on the four Fusion’s (1, 2 & 3) that I have tried.
The handbook is very comprehensive and quite a good read actually. (Told you I was an Anorak)
Nice boot release button on the dashboard. Nice when it is too wet to help the wife with the shopping.
I have driven some long distances, and also at speed (115 mph – private roads officer – honest) It is rock solid at speed but does get a little noisy – but not as noisy as the Fiesta.
Fuel consumption is around 35 urban and 45 if VERY careful on the Motorways. Otherwise it ca be thirsty. I would say the Fiesta is about 10 miles per gallon better in all modes.
Many people have commented about travelling in the back causing carsickness. I travelled in the back for two hours once and concur with this. The vision is narrow from a rear passenger’s perspective and I was glad to get out.
And finally – parking. I find it a dog of a thing to park. I cannot get to grips with the smaller rear window. Thank goodness for the electric mirrors as I use them to line up in carparks when reversing.
To sum up? I love it for all it’s quirks and greater running costs. The Fusion 2 is well worth the extra than a Fusion 1. The Fusion 3 is forgettable.
It’s hardly a headturner but once I have my Anorak on and my fluffy hood up I can’t see the sneers anyway.
Advantages: practical, comfortable, good petrol economy Disadvantages: niggly fault and rattles
Hi,
I've owned this Fusion for almost 3 years now and will be part exchanging it soon so I thought as a final goodbye I would review it. It hasn't been a bad car but it has its faults and bad points.
I had this car from new and I chose a dark metallic grey.
The first fault developed within a coupe of weeks. It started eating CDs and wouldn’t eject them so it had to go to the garage for a new CD unit - an all day job as the whole fascia needs to ... ...months after. The steering wheel started to peel- like a bad case of sunburn. Back to the garage it went for a new steering wheel.
Its 3rd fault was about 10 months from purchase. The electric windows stopped working in the fully open position. Luckily the dealer was open when this happened and they managed to shut them but it had to go back for new motors.
Its 4th problem was about 18 months from purchase. It developed a leak. The engine started ...

Advantages: good solid reliable car Disadvantages: The shape is a little square and not as attractive as the fiesta
I bought my fusion second hand with 15000 miles on the clock, since then i have clocked up a further 52000 miles mainly motorway driving as i commute to work.
I have found this car to be rugged, versatile, comfortable, economical and above all else reliable. The slightly elevated driving position gives you a sense of being in a much bigger vehicle and is equally as comfortable manouvering through the town or churning out mile after mile on the motorway.
... ...rear of the car. The high ceiling means you get pleanty of head room and is particularly useful when you need to fold the seats down and load the car up. Also another advantage is the amount of storage you have. Clever compartments in the dash and under the seats are extremely handy. The rear seats are split (2and1) and also the front passenger seat folds flat which allows you to carry longer loads without the need for a roof wrack and still carry ...

Advantages: running costs, reliability, Disadvantages: no disadvantages!
I purchased my brand new Ford Fusion 3 a while ago now,and I must say how thoroughly impressed with the car I am!
Its everything that I needed, its totally reliable, frugal, and very comfortable to drive.
I know that the look of the car is not to everybodys taste, but it has a quirky-ness about it....this car is cute yet rugged.
I previously owned a Ford Focus 1.8 and this car nearly matches that on acceleration and power,it has great road holding ... ...position is higher than most cars enabling a good view of the road, and she is easy to park...
As you probably can guess from this review,Im totally happy with this car and would not hesitate recommending the Ford Fusion to any person looking to buy a smaller, yet versatile, reliable car! ...
