Car Reviews of Ford Galaxy »
I LOVE this car
Advantages: Practical, affordable, stylish inside and out Disadvantages: Can be bigger than what you're used to - but it is an MPV after all
...purchased a 2nd hand 2005 Ford Galaxy TDI from a used car supermarket. In comparison to other models of this class, the Galaxy is head and shoulders above the rest.
Why did we chose the Galaxy?
Well, put simply - you get a lot more for your money. Yes the other rivals like Zafira and Sharan are also 7 seaters, a little bit cheaper and so on but in my opinion you get what you pay for - and the Galaxy is perfect proof of this. Practically speaking ... ...car fully loaded, and a Ford Mondeo 2.0 which we had previously. The turbo injection combined with the 6 gears gives you power when you need it, without a struggle, and there always feels like there's a lot more to give should you need it. The onboard computer (while strikingly similar to the VW Sharan) breaks down trips into MPG, average speed and time on the road.... you choose what you want to see. The self-diagnostic features (rear break lights ...

Ford Galaxy 2.3 Ghia Year 2000
Advantages: Plenty of room and comfortable Disadvantages: Can be costly to run
Our first experience of a Ford Galaxy was several years ago when we hired one for a family holiday. We could not believe how comfortable and spacious they were, even with 6 people in the vehicle.
We decided to purchase one of our own a few years ago. We got one used from a dealer where it had only been used as a fleet car and had only done motorway mileage.
These vehicles are so spacious and the beauty is that you can remove all the seats. It comes ... ...the large side. The two front seats are known as captains chairs, and have armrests. You can also swivel them around to face the passengers behind you, so if you are on holiday and the weather is not so good, you can picnic inside the car. This is great if you have small or younger children.
It has climate control, cruise control, ABS, immobiliser, 6 CD changer.
The windows can be locked and controlled by a button on the driving console.
We have ...

Excellent MPV
Advantages: Comfortable, large Disadvantages: Can be difficult to drive because of size
I have this car and have done for a couple of years now. It is an extremely large and comfortable MPV. The seats in the boot have adequate space for legs and the seats are very comfortable, because they are wide so you have a lot of room and are not cramped against other people while traveling. We were thinking of selling it but decided not to because it is so good. It has all the features we need and has so much room compared to other cars. The ... ...the battery. It picks up the IOW radio when i do not live there. There are many useful places to place valuables which are very useful, with many pockets which leaves the car less cluttered.. Even with the seats in the back there is still enough boot space but we take the seats out quite often which is an easy job. All you have to do is pull 2 levers to lift the seats up to increase boot space and to take them out just involves pulling another lever. ...

Lovely car but just a bit juicy
Advantages: comfort and size Disadvantages: Juicy on Petrol
In my view this has been a great car and I have enjoyed many reliable journeys, but I have found the Galaxy has been juicy on petrol., as you would expect with 2.8 I have found the Galaxy very specious even with three children, cots, buggies and bags. Saying that the boot is not huge but enough for your luggage. I have found this car very quick to pull away and is quite enjoyable for such a big car. I think this has definately been the best family ... ...any growing family.
I think this car comes with lots of little comforts for a big family and I love all of its many features, swival seats, air con, heated seats etc. I think the car feels very safe to drive although road handling is only medium - satisfactory.
To me the car looks ok, just very plain but thats good for me. ...

The ford galaxy 1.9tdi....
Advantages: stylish, slick design, very smooth drive, great features Disadvantages: slow pick up, timing belt and water pump fail after 100k miles!
Hi, my parents recently bought this galaxy and it is a really cool car. It has a lot of space in the inside although it looks small from the outside. The car also has many great features and runs like a cruise ship on the sea with very little noise even though it is a diesel. it also looks very nice and styish and is very eye catching. However, there are many recognised problems witht he car, for example the timing belt and water pump failure. As ... ...this tends to get loose or break after every 100k miles and therefore must be replaced. Without these the car is un drivable and over heats very quickly. Also the heating and A/C stops working. Apart from this it is a very slick car from the inside and out with a lot of room/space and is very relaxing. ...
