I learned to drive in this car, which is a 2002 registration, which i found it very easy to drive. I've been driving for just over a year now and the only really problem I have is that the gear box can be a bit funny when trying to go into reverse as it sometimes won't go in gear.

The Ka was released towards the end of the nineties, lasting 12 years before the new model was brought out at the beginning of 2010, and to be honest, I prefer the old one.

The car has a top speed 104mph, but I doubt it would reach that as the car begins to shake around 70. For a 1.2 litter the cars acceleration is quite good, however first gear is a waste of time and if your in a queue of traffic only going a few miles per hour, you have to basically drive with the clutch. If you do a lot of city driving, then im sure this will damage the clutch. The car will get from 0-60 mph in 14.1 seconds.

For a small run about car, the Ka is a good size, however when the front seats are pushed all the way back, the passengers in the back seats have little leg room, and if they are over 6 foot, they will have little head room as a result of the car not being very long and round at the back.

For a small car, you would expect it to have a high mile to the gallon
ratio, but I am not so sure. As I do a lot of short trips only around, 4-5 miles, the car seams to use a lot of petrol and I find myself having a £20 fuel bill per week. As I am yet to drive on a motorway, I am unsure how the car will cope at a constant 70 miles per hour, or how this would effect the petrol usage. Searches on the internet inform me that the car should do 45 miles to the gallon, which I think I rarely reach.

The stereo in my car has a 6 piece detachable section, so when the car is left this can be taken and the radio can not be used.

Due to the low emissions of 147 C02 g/km the car is in tax band F which is only £125 per year. Insurance is also very cheap.

Price list:

P registered Ka can be found for around £1500,
A 2000 registered Ka can be found for around £2500,
A 2004 registered Ka can be found for around £3500
A 2009 registered Ka (new shape) can be found for £7000
