Advantages: Great economy, luxury trim, cute car Disadvantages: A bit slow
also suffered from peeling of some of the window trims - Ford use a black plastic film to give some of the finish a smoked glass effect, it looks really good but you'll see most older cars have this peeling away. My dealer did not want to repair this but I insisted, I showed him all the other cars in his car park with the same issue and asked him how he thought it could not be seen as a design fault. He called Ford and they accepted the cost (About £5 + fitting). If you have a ford with this problem get it fixed under warranty, we put up with it for 12 months before I challenged the dealer, the car is a whole lot nicer to look at when it's fixed up.
Would we buy another Ka? Probably not, we like to try a different car each time we change. Mrs mfhome has already got her new car, a Daihatsu Copen and the Ka has been relegated to shopping ...

Advantages: Handling, reliability Disadvantages: lack of luxuries.
I had this car when my Ford Mondeo was getting a new rear axel and it did the job very well. OK, the take off speeds weren't that good but the handling was great. I don't own the car anymore as I gave it to my friend who had just passed his test and I got back my Mondeo. Sometimes I wish I ad kept it and sold the Mondeo as it was very unreliable. It started first time every time even below 0 degree's. It was VERY good on petrol. About 40-45 miles per gallon. In the month that I had it I never needed to top up the oil or anything. The only problem was the tracking, but looking at the left front tire it had been curbed quite a lot by the previous owners. I would recommend it to anyone. My friend still has it and is very happy with it. ...

The FordKA, officially an icon for Ford. The Ka was introduced in 1996 and my girlfriend bought the 1998 KA 1 model as her first car. It was obviously a 3-door model (the only option) but it was in a weird colour, it looked like brown, grey and silver mixed into one, but it was listed in the logbook as grey.
The KA was originally designed to only have black plastic bumpers so in the event of a minor crash they could easily and cheaply be replaced. This model has the black bumpers, but having done 72000miles upon purchase they had done a feint grey colour and although the black bumper/trim polish is easy and cheap to buy from Halfords or anywhere, I would recommend (if you can afford it) to buy a colour coded one as they just look better and don?t have to be repainted even if the car doesn?t need it- as the black ones do.
I ...
