Ford Maverick 2.7 TD

I owned a 1994 2.7TD Maverick for a couple of years and found it to be very strong in some areas, but quite weak in others. The Pro's :- Excellent driving position- Visibility is very good when looking forward and to the sides, but a little "iffy" when reversing with a trailer or horse-box attached due to the way the rear quarter panels "swoop" up. The rear quarter glasses are smaller to allow for the styling and this reduces visibility to the rear sides. 2.7 Turbo Diesel 1996 GLX LWB I bought a 1996 Ford Maverick in 2002 for £6350 when I was looking for a Nissan Terano. They are in the fact the same thing as Nissan built them both. I found the following to be good: Seating position high and comfortable Off road ability reasonable Spacious boot and interior Rear visibilty and easy parking These are the bad points: Very uneconomical - about 23mpg at times Very noisy over 50mph Lack of accessories to convert it to a real off roader It is surprisingly good if you are not worried about running costs and don't do a large number of motorway miles.
