Advantages Advantages Looks, handling, fun factor, all mod cons

Disadvantages Disadvantages Visibility and rear passenger area

When this car was bought from new, the 5 months waiting list had me very eager to get behind the wheel to see what she could do. And although not the quickest in the Puma range, the 1.4 still holds her own against similarly sized cars. The engine is quiet - very quiet. The 16v Zetec had me stalling a few times on the run home from the garage, but given half a chance, the Puma started to live up to it’s expectations. Absolutely stunning looks, a very smooth ride and stylish interior complete with climate control and CD player. The handling is superb, acceleration not bad, and the sports shift ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks, style, great ride

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Visibility

I recently had loan of one of these for 3 weeks and I loved every minute. Looks-wise, they're gorgeous, curvaceous, streamlined and cute. Inside, the aluminium dash and dials are clean and contemporary, and the gearstick feels so much fun. Performance-wise, you wouldn't believe you were in only a 1.4. Acceleration from 0-30 is very fast, the engine is quiet as can be, it corners solidly, the suspension's smooth and gear-changing is a doddle. Climate control works perfectly, the CD player sounds expensive, the seats are low and comfortable and the pedals have just the right amount of spring ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks fab, Handles great, great city runaround

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor visability, can be sluggish when you put your foot down!

I have owned my puma for around 3 years now, and I still love it! They are good-looking cars, and turn heads, but there is not hundreds of them around, so they are fairly exclusive in my opinion. I have had people see me in my car and ask me where I got mine from, because they have been looking and can't find many for sale. This is because once you own one, it is very difficult to change to another. My 1.4 is a W reg, metallic green, and has around 50,000 miles on the clock. I paid £6500 for this 3 years ago, and they tend to keep their value quite well. My advice would be to check the mileage ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Handling and well equiped for its age

Disadvantages Disadvantages Chassis deserves more power, Look at the Racing Puma or 1.7

I have now owned one of these cars for a year, Its from 1998, it's done 110,000 miles and it still feels as tight as a drum, The car itself is well equipped even for today; Air con, Passenger Airbag, Front and Rear heated windscreen, CD player and much more. The car looks the part also, even in todays car parks the puma still stands out as a sporty little coupé and completely overshadows the other boring box shaped cars from the 1990's. Although the styling is probably more leaning towards the liking of women its still not a bad car for a guy to be seen driving ( and guys will want to drive it ... more

Advantages Advantages sporty, sleek car with great handling

Disadvantages Disadvantages rear visibility, but didnt really bother me

Bought my Puma used for £2500. A lovely little car, a real sporty feel without the petrol cost and high maintenance that usually goes with it. I loved the gearbox, very easy to use - everything close together and could change gear with a gentle push of one finger! smooth car to drive, could have gone for the 1.7 but felt that the 1.4 was nippy enough and handles like a go-kart! A fun little car that looks sleek and sexy without even trying. Rear visibility not great, and small area in the back for passengers, but not too bad. With the seats in the back folded down I managed to get my two bull ... more
