Yes I had the Ford Streetka. When I was younger I always wanted a Ford Ka. Then when I started driving I realised how rubbish they are and went off the idea. Then I bought a Mazda MX5, nice little sporty convertible car. I got bored of this in 3 months. The Ford Streetka had just come out and I HAD to have one! I went to Birchwood Ford (really, dont even bother) and ordered a brand new Ford Streetka. I wanted it in grey with an MP3 player, which I wasn't allowed (another story) but I hear that you can get these in them. My Ford Streetka was the metallic dark blue colour, the Luxury model - which means that it had chrome on bits like the foot pedals and gear stick, with a 5 disk cd changer which you put cd's in the front of - 1.6. I have to say, my Mazda was a 1.8petrol but this Streetka, being a 1.6, was nearly as quick as it. I loved the speed of it, cruising down the motorway at 120 mph - though this seemed like the maximum speed you could get out of it. The size of the Streetka is surprisingly roomy for a 2 seater convertible. You could stretch your legs out in it and move your arms around without hitting the roof or windscreen. The boot was also large for the cars size. A big let down of this car is the interior. For a £13000 car you would expect the interior not to be so plasticky. The glovebox was a joke. It was a small plastic compartment that you had to press down for it to open in a clamshell manner. When people got in my car to have a look they would always try and pull this up without pressing the button, nearly snapping it. The door scuff plates are another matter. They are made by Pininfarina and are stunning. They are chrome with Pininfarina written in silver on them. The car is definitely a girls car, any men seen driving one are laughed at (well by me anyway!). The shape of it is just like a bubble and definitely different. Definitely stands out from the crowd! I had to sell mine as my dog couldn't fit in it. I say that it's small is a disadvantage, but it is big for a 2 seater convertible. The bucket leather seats are also very comfortable and have a heater function on them, which is very good in England! The convertible was definitely a plus, but the removing and replacing of the roof has to be done manually. It is stored in a compartment behind the seats, which you press a button for it to open so it looks like it disappears - very cool except for the dirt line you get where it has been up! (again, we are in England!) Because the windscreen is curved at the top you dont get much wind when the roof is down and can actually hear the person sitting next to you. The speakers are very loud and bassy, no need for a sub or anything, and because the stereo is a 5 cd changer there is no need for an mp3 player. This car is good as a toy, not very practical because of the size. If I had enough money when I had this car I would of bought myself a little run around that I could use for when I wanted to take the dog out to the beach or take items to another place, and used this car for the summer or on long journeys when I wanted to get somewhere quickly. All in all, an ok car - if you like those kind of things! I have to say I don't miss it. I miss not having a convertible but I dont miss not being able to pick people up or take items to different places!
Advantages: fun, trendy, noticeable, stands out from the crowd, excellent big boot for small car Disadvantages: girly car, lack of storage space inside car, dont know how to pronounce 'Ka'
...for something more modern the Ford StreetKa suddenly became more noticeable. What can I say, its fun, it's fast, it's economical, it's everything you could possibly want from a car with two seats. The hood is very easy to operate by one person and can be put up or down in twenty seconds flat (which fits perfectly with the british weather!) I could probably put it up or down in about 15 seconds now that I am more used to it. The hood folds down into ... ...boot area. Security is good, to operate the hood either up or down needs the ignition key and although probably not recommended, it seems reasonably safe to leave the car locked and alarmed with the hood down for a very short time. Storage space inside the car is a bit sparse, there is a small glove box, a storage net between the seats and a lockable cubbyhole for cd's, valuables etc. and there is also a small space behind the seats so its fine really. ...

Advantages: stylish/compact/ Disadvantages: Not Safe!
...I spotted one on the Ford forecourt and immediately fell in love with it. I decided to but a new one and wait a couple of weeks until march for the new 05 number plate. When it arrived I was over the moon.....Everything about the Streetka I loved, it was smart, stylish, compact (I'm only little!) and very smooth and easy going to drive. Everything was great other than the amount of petrol it seemed to drink! until one day i had an accident. I have ... ...they replied "There are no impact sensors at the front of the vehicle"!
I don't have any faith in ford any longer. Cars, service, safty or customer care. Beware, this car is lovely to drive and looks great, but crumbles under the slightest amount of pressure. ...

Advantages: Economical, nice Drive, Looks cool. Nice and girly Disadvantages: Road Tax is expensive. Got the occasional Leak in the Poor Weather.
I Currently have a street Ka have had it for 2 and a half years. Not had too many problems with it. Although i think i might be starting to get a few now!!
I like the car because they are small, easy to drive, good on fuel. They are however very expensive on tax for what they are. At one point i was paying the same as a 5.5 ltr Merc!!! I have had to have 2 new door handles on it one on either side as they broke and the doors couldnt be opened from ... ...I do also get a bit of a leak when it is windy and rainy. but nothing that you have to worry about too much.
I have had a good experience I do have a slight knocking when i brake at the moment and i think one of the belfts is on the way out as it is very squeaky when youfirst start it up. Has anyone had these problems with theres?
The roof is nice and easy to put down although its not electronic it can be done within about 30 seconds. They dont ...

Advantages: Great looking little car - love it!! Disadvantages: Spare tyre is not easy to release (although I never do this myself anyway haha!)
Bought a StreetKa 15 months ago after wanting an upgrade from my Fiesta.
Firstly, I love this car!! It looks fantastic (I have the dark metallic grey Luxury edition) - and for me to drives perfectly. I've driven (fairly) long distances in it, and it has dealt with this fine. The roof is very easy to use - although it may take a couple of tries to get used to it. The first thing I noticed when driving this after my Fiesta was the blind spots over ... ...are now in the correct position, and this is no problem at all.
One minor issue mentioned in the -'ive section would be the spare tyre. Whenever I have had this changed (mostly by a mechanic, sometimes by a friend/family member) , this has taken a LONG time to get out, as it is situated under the car itself and has to be moved into a particular position - not easy apparantly. Fuel consumption is about £40 more a month than my Fiesta, however my ...

Advantages: Small and compact and fun to drive Disadvantages: Fuel guzzler
...looks just like a standard Ford Ka, with a bit of silver splashed around for addded colour. You get little in the way of extras although CD player comes as standard. It can fit into tight parking spaces and is ideal for those with shorter legs. My partner is 6ft tall and finds he cannot get the seat far enough back to be comfortable for driving, although he does manage occassionaly. The car is let down by the amount of fuel it guzzles! Be warned ...
