Ford Windstar CLX

I have always driven 2 door or 4 door automobiles. The car that I currently drive is 1996 Intrepid made by Dodge. I absolutely love this car, but recently, I had the privilage of driving a minivan. The first one, at that! The minivan was made by Ford and is called a Windstar. I had always heard very negative things about this ride, however, through a car rental glitch in my reservation last week, I had the option of renting this minivan. hi i bought his van brand new about 7 years ago for $40,000. My van still runs perfectly and looks like new. In the last 7 years i think i have spent a total of $8,000 on repairs and mantinance withs is extreemly good! I use this van on regular trips to my cottage, pulling a trailer, and carying 5 people and their stuff. the only problems that i have had are the electrical word, speakers, and the transmission for electrical, the heat does not work properly, and inside lights don't turn on. nothing you can not live without. I love my Windstar. I was extremely reluctant to become a mini-van mom when it came time to trade in my car. However, with two young children, I forced myself to take the practical route. And I am so glad I did. Our '95 Windstar has been awesome. We've had no problems in the past three years with this van. The ride is smooth, and I don't feel like I'm driving a truck. The seats are easy to remove, although they are somewhat heavy to lift, making lots of space in the rear to transport kid's junk, furniture, or groceries. Gas mileage is fair, about 22 mpg.
