I have always driven 2 door or 4 door automobiles. The car that I currently drive is 1996 Intrepid made by Dodge. I absolutely love this car, but recently, I had the privilage of driving a minivan. The first one, at that! The minivan was made by Ford and is called a Windstar.
I had always heard very negative things about this ride, however, through a car rental glitch in my reservation last week, I had the option of renting this minivan. And, I must say, that after driving it for one week, I am sold!!
What impressed me most about this car is the roominess. Having 2 infant granddaughters, I find that myu Intrepid does not offer the space needed to transpot two infant car seats. No problem here with the Windstar. The back seat folds down to offer even more trunk space. I was able to load up 4 large suitcases, a baby stroller and several bags of souveniors from my trip to Denver!
When I went grocery shopping, I had no problem handling this minivan, parking was a snap. The car that I drove was a 6 cylinder, 1999, cranberry colored sleek and very sexy machine! Can you tell that I liked it??
Paying for gas was not that bad. When I pulled up to the pump, I had no trouble at all, maneuvering this van close to the pump. I especially liked the fact that the gas tank held about as much gas as my Intrepid and did not cost much more to fill it up!
One downside to this minivan, is that there was not much acceleration if the airconditioner was on. In the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, going up was a bit frustrating. I ended up turning off the airconditioning until I had reached the level of the mountain that I needed.
I would highly recommend this automobile to anyone with a large family, or who has the need for the extra room. Perhaps, this will be my very next purchase!

An opinion about a product you don't own and have only given a cursory trial is of no use to a potential purchaser
