Four years ago we bought our first new car, at Ford Wilton at the Mercuriusweg in The Hague. Before we payed the car, in cash, we were treated as kings. After paying, well, things changed. Within the first six months of owning the car we had trouble with the radio-cd player. Cd's would just stop playing. We went back to Wilton but after about four tries they still could not find the problem. At our request the cd player was replaced. The new cd player started showing the same problem, though. Months later, this cd player was replaced to, even after we already had come to the conclusion it probably was the car and not the radio. Clearly, this radio didn't work proparly either and finally we got hour money back. We bought another radio, no Philips but the newest Kenwood, with Mask-system. We were so proud. Until a year later, the radio broke down. Conclusion, the voltage in the car had been to high, and had distroyed the radio. It was about that time that friends of hours advised us to take the car to the garage and let them have a look at the dynamo. Our friends had had the same problems! We took the car to another garage and sure enough, the dynamo was faulty. The voltage was to high, causing the radio to break down, the clock running to fast and even the outside of the car to be electrically charged (everytime I touched the car after driving, I was almost electrocuted!). The dynamo was replaced and the trouble was over. Well, not all of it, we got half of the price of hour radio back. The rest.....after trying for a year, even helped by a lawyer, Wilton wouldn't pay. They even lied and said we had never been around with the car. What can I say: Ford Wilton, never again.
Afterwards it turned out we were not the only ones with problems with this 'dealer'. It seems almost all of the Netherlands have had trouble with Ford Wilton.
