I fell pregnant last year and with 3 kids already we needed a new car as the tin can we had made us all feel like sardines. We did the usual of trailing round all the garages (like you do) trying to find a car that was suitable for us and at the right price. We knew we needed an mpv (it was either that or a mini bus)so we donned our walking shoes and off we trecked with ankle biters in tow. It was a complete nightmare looking at all the garages and not knowing if we were going to get a good deal or be ripped off. We came home quite dejected and we decided to look on the web to see what write ups the cars had so this could make our choice a bit easier. The best one that came out was the Ford Galaxy 2.0 petrol for us. As this was a ford we knew there was only one place to go and that was the Ford dealership. We didnt want a new one (who would with a bunch of rugrats to ruin it) so we opted for a slightly used model. We got to the dealership and the staff couldnt be more helpful. We went for a test drive and the car was great and it was a GOOD price as well. When we got back to the dealership we sat down to talk finances and what deals were on offer. The staff went through everything with us told us how much it would cost and what we would get for the price and what services were on offer. To say that the warranty alone was worth about half what the car is worth would be an underestimation. We got a 12 month warranty, free tax, gold club membership (this entitles you to discounted rates for parts and services plus a very basic breakdown cover for the rest of the ownership of the car) also they valited the car and we also got Coffee!!!! As i said the 12 month warranty on the car has saved us so far £4000. Ford galaxies are great but they are expensive and twice we have had problems with it. The ford dealership has taken the car (no quibling) and fixed it for us at no charge to ourselves. The first time the car started playing up the parts and labour cost £1700 but did not cost us a penny and the second time the catalitic converter went and that alone to replace cost £1300 not including labour costs. With the car been used we expected to have some normal problems but the ford dealership has been absolutly fantastic and no expensive bills when it was fixed has my thumbs up All in all they provide a really good quality service and they think about your needs when selling you a car. I would recomend them to anyone wanting a new car be it used or brand new.

Good to hear you found a dealership you liked. Yes, warrenty is a good thing, although a replacement catalytic converter would only cost about £350 fitted!
