Mclaren have been dominating the recent F1 seasons though went downhill this season. Their beautiful black and silver aerodynamisised 200mph vehicles were no match for their opponents- the red stallions the one and only Ferrari. This season Ferrari have been on top form the season and they deserve it. Michael had won the F1 crown this year along with Reubens Barrichello coming third. But this season a new rival had put down the gauntlet to McLaren ......were ready for action. Advantages: good engines, but a lose of honda Disadvantages: honda, honda, honda
...in the back of a Jordan they would be champions. It was a very slow start, but with the help of Damon Hill, they won there first race at Spa with a Jordan 1, 2 after a very funny race. The weather had a big play in the matter, and once Michael Schumacher hit the back of David Coulthard McLearn on lap 31, and with the 1996 world champion in 2nd and his team mate in 3rd with no real challangers, the race was set. For one it was nice to see Honda being ......season when Jordan won another 2 races, BAR took control as Honda started to power 2 teams. This slowed down the R&D and after Honda admiting to that they will only power 1 team in 2003, Jordan were going to be the lossers. Jordan and Ford where put together after a 10 year split. I really do hope that Jordan and Ford go well, as the Jaguars have been improving during the year. Ok, so its not a works deal. But in the same way that Lotus designed ... Read review
Advantages: Not long till the end of the season... Disadvantages: Dreadful engine, drivers seem increasingly uninterested
Apparently Benetton have been the victim of malicious hackers. So says Renault's technical director Jean-Jacques His. The obvious riposte to that is: how could they tell? For Benetton, just six years ago the home of back-to-back champion Michael Schumacher, are in an appalling state. Renault has a great deal of work to do, and the timing of this announcement - the actual incident, one should note, took place a year ago - can only raise suspicions ......problem, I believe, is that Benetton have been deluding themselves for some years now. They are not a championship-winning team, and never have been. Their triumphs in 1994 and '95 were largely down to one man: Michael Schumacher. I know that, you know that, but it seems that no one at Benetton can see it. This isn't, of course, to say that they are inherently a bad team. After all, they did well in their early years, especially 1986, when Gerhard ... Read review
Advantages: Greatest winners of championship titles, dominate season after season, strong leadership. Disadvantages: Occasional poor driver decisions, behind McLaren on race victories.
...to the end of 2001, Williams have participated in 23 seasons (beginning 1978), McLaren 35 (beginning 1966) and Ferrari all 51. Respectively, they have taken the following driver's and constructor's titles: Williams 7 and 9, McLaren 11 and 8, Ferrari 11 of each. Therefore it can be seen that Williams have won 30.4% of driver's titles available to them, and 39.1% of potential constructor's titles. McLaren have 31.4% and 22.8%, and Ferrari have won ......that, while Williams lead the way in constructor's title victories, McLaren have a slight edge in terms of individual race victories and points scores. Percentage of Grands Prix victories (Correct to end of 2000): McLaren: 130 wins from 509 races = 25.5% win ratio Williams: 103 wins from 428 races = 24% win ratio Ferrari: 135 wins from 636 races = 21.2% win ratio Average points scored* per race (Correct to end of 2000): McLaren: 2481.5pts from 509 ...
