Bahrain 2009
Review of Formula 1 in General by josef_wardle

Advantages: great race, first 'normal' race of the season
Disadvantages: little in the way of retirement and incident, but plenty of intriguing moments regarding strategy

...that has invested millions in Formula 1 since they began more than 10 years ago. Lewis Hamilton (British) was also a much happier man putting his improving McClaren on the 3rd row of the grid in a highly respectable 5th spot. The reigning World Champion has had little to smile about so far this season, and with the "lie-gate" scandal hanging over the teams head, the improved speed of the car was a small boost for morale. Fellow Briton, and Championship ...
...team-mate Barrichello (Brazil) was 6th. The race itself was an altogether different beast from what we had experienced in Australia, Malaysia and China. For one there was no safety car period and the race was able to finish under green flag conditions at full pace for pretty much the first time all season. Miraculously, retirements were few and far between only Williams driver Nakajima (Japan) departed early. The start was frantic, and the opening ... Read review

Good coverage
Review of Murray Walker by sid

Advantages: good coverage
Disadvantages: none

...here we go, no more Murray Walker, no more good coverage, but when credit has to be given I’m not that kind of person to shy a way. I must admit that the coverage was first class, it didn’t even other me that it wasn’t on the Beeb anymore. They gave just enough attention to it. Most importantly they managed to get the services of Walker who even though now is going to retire has helped in making it a successful first year for the ...
...equally good job in the hot seat so credit to him for his knowledge of the sport, and the way he delivers it. In the studio like Des presents the Big Match. Jim Rosenthal and Tony Jardine present it and give all the main news before the race starts. Everyone needs a big hand for their work in making it a good show to watch So much so that I don’t mind when the take quick break, they do it so it causes the least possible fuss. So well done ... Review of Televised Formula 1 by nrwilletts

Advantages: comentary team do there best
Disadvantages: delayed and interupted coverage!!!!

I believe that recent ITV coverage of grand prix events has been absolutely terrible. It is a terrible and unforgivable insult to loyal F1 fans not to screen races AND qualifying LIVE. They can manage to do so in the case of FOOTBALL but F1 seems not as important. Also FOOTBALL doesn't get broken up by useless adverts!!!! The service we are getting from this company is unforgivable and although I have nothing against football my passion for F1 is ... Read review

The Best F1 Magazine
Review of F1 Racing Magazine by polydeuces

Advantages: Excelent articles
Disadvantages: Some of the photography too arty

...says on the tin’ then F1 Racing could just as easily say it has in it exactly what the title suggests. The magazine covers F1 in a depth not equalled by any other magazine I have read. The magazine however is committed to the coverage of current F1 only and consequently there is little written about the history of F1 and previous championship. This notwithstanding the magazine has thorough articles on every aspect of this seasons championships. ...
...coverage for example on the aero-dynamics of the sport. There is a tendency for the magazine to be personality dominated rather than the machines. On balance though F1 racing is a thoroughly good read and well worth the £3.40 monthly cost. It is essential reading for any F1 fan.. ... Read review

F1 Tobacco Sponsorship Ban
Review of Advertising & Sponsorships by gray

Advantages: No advertising near schools
Disadvantages: None

...Union’s proposed tobacco sponsorship and advertising ban as unlawful, the motor industry governing body, the FIA, should be congratulated on persevering with their own ban due to come into effect in 2006. The proposed EU ban has caused its fair share of embarrassment to Formula 1 and the Labour Party i.e. the £1 million “Bernie” donation which has come back to haunt Blair and Brown. In truth, the changing face of Formula 1 will ensure that the teams ...
...current eleven teams have tobacco sponsors (one of whom is withdrawing at the end of the 2000 season), a large reduction from ten years ago when Philip Morris sponsored nearly every otherwise unaffiliated driver at least. With the increased involvement of the major car manufacturers, companies like Jaguar and BMW have already decided that they do not wish to be involved with the product. It is a dreadful cliché, but has the time come to stub out ... Read review
