Advantages: Superb graphics, great sound/voice overs, interesting missions, and very complex Disadvantages: Needs a lot of patience, difficult AI, slow movement of graphics, and no multiplayer
The first submarine simulation game I played when I was a kid and despite its retro status, I still find myself playing it once in a while. Even though I mainly played the Amiga version when I was a kid, the Mega Drive version is literally the same and I'm currently trying it out again years later through an emulator.
Plotline
Taking place during the Cold War between the USA and the Soviet Union. 688 Attack Sub uses the what if scenarios and shows the worst what could have happened all those years ago. Starting from minor threats between the two countries and eventually turning into a world war.
Gameplay
The entire interface gives you that instant feeling that you're inside a submarine and in total command. As you can see from one of my pictures, there are several stations that need to be commanded and waiting for orders ...
Advantages: Solid pro build, balanced AES/EBU ins and outs, Timecode included. Disadvantages: Older DAT tape recording format, limited to 16 bit 48k max sample rate.
This is an old workhorse of the DAT variety. Solid build 2 channel recorder, 3 channel mixer. Hosts of extras and options including 48v phantom power, limiters, LF rolloff, up to -30dB attenuation pads, extensive Timecode included! AES/EBU balanced analogue and digital ins and outs. Used by the BBC and film companies before the new generation of solid state / HD recorders and still in use by many sound engineers.
A thoroughly professional DAT recorder at 16/48 resolution, which is perfectly adequate for many music, dialogue and general recording tasks. DAT tapes are still available so still a good backup recorder with timecode.
Build quality and performance 5 stars! Would have to rate at 4 stars overall due to lower bit rate and sampling rate by contemporary standards and the old tape DAT format being replaced by HD and other ...

Advantages: Lots of bangers Disadvantages: A couple of tracks hold it back
In 2009 came the debut album from the drum & Bass and Dubstep musician Sub Focus. Guidford-raised, he first made an impact in 2003, and has continued to make an impression on the Drum & bass world in particular with his own material, and also remixes of other popular artists in the style and other closely-associated ones, but once he made a mainstream impact in 2008, it was decided that he should compile a proper album of his works for the first time, as we get here.
1. ?Let The Story Begin?
The album begins well with a powerful track that livens you up from the beginning, as you tend to expect of an album in such a genre and so after some time spend building things up with some dark sound effects, it dramatically breaks down in a harsh way and leads you right into what the general sounds of the album will be like from that point ...
Designed ideally for use with the PM0.5, the 110 watt, 200mm driver Fostex PM0.5-Sub produces precise, low frequency reproduction and an excellent deep bass output. Easy to set-up (just a single gain control and phase reverse switch), the combination of a pair of PM0.5s and PM0.5-Sub provides superb sonic quality at an affordable price. The addition of the 110 watt powered PM0.5-Sub MkII to a pair of PM0.5 MkII speakers greatly expands the frequency range down to as low as 25Hz without distortion. Ideal for applications where clear, precise, full-spectrum audio and flexible monitoring are required. - A combination of power and accuracy that will satisfy even the most discerning user.
