To get prepared for the exam you need plenty of home works.So I chose Kaplan ACCA study texts. ACCA is abbreviation of Association of Chartered certified Accountants. after starting ACCA i foud lots of books issued by publishers from ACCA e.g Bpp ,LCA and FTC Foulks lynch kaplan study text books.     Advantages Advantages one of only 2 books available for ACCA, BPP text not much better

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive, poorly written, confusing, riddled with errors

    I just thought Id add this to balance the previous 'review' or should I call it an advert. On the whole, I found these and BPP's books to be OK - better than a lot of academic books but still a long way from being perfect. On the other hand theyre pretty expensive, full of errors, and often not explained very well. They are appoved publishers because these are the only 2 publishers and theyve obviously hammered out some dodgy deal with ACCA - the advantages of being a part of duopoly. Come on ACCA you should be getting them to improve their texts or at least encourage some competition into the ... more
