The ASUS M2NPV-VM Motherboard for AMD single-core Athlon 64/ Sempron and Dual-core Athlon 64 X2/ Athlon FX processors using socket AM2 is very user friendly, I went with AMDs 64 x2 3800+ processor in the beginning then moved up to 4200+ 2Gb Ram without any hassle, very easy to setup and fits easily in a standard ATX case. A possible downside to the board is that it has a limited number of slots due to being a microATX sized board. That's not a big deal for me as the only two cards I'll be buying in the future is Graphics and a extra Lan card.

Overall the motherboard is satisfactory. You will only say that the RAM support should be up to 8 GB and I am also agree with you. The motherboard is microATX and so you can install it on slim cabinets also. It is a very affordable motherboard as it cost Rs. 2400($ 60) in India (on 8th March 2008.).

Advantages: Excellent value with quality onboard graphics and sound Disadvantages: small form factor means not much room to work with
up settings (overclock) using superstep, plus it is possible to download and update the bios from windows using superupdate. For many, bios updates are taboo as you have to 'flash' the ROM, but with this, some of the worry is removed by doing it from a familiar interface. The board also has a superboot fast booting option, which bypasses a lot of the startup tests in order to speed up the startup time.
When paired with the Athlon3500, 2gig of corsair value memory and a SATA hard drive, this board has delivered everything I require at this time, with room for some expansion/enhancement further down the line to extend the useful life of my system.
