Advantages: Price is cheap Disadvantages: The technology downturn may have further to go
...I follow financial markets quite closely and note that Framlington are a conservative and solid company.
Whilst surfing today, I came across the biggest losers in the Footsie this week.
Amongst them was the above Fund. I could not believe how much the Trust price has fallen, although I am not an investor in it.
also, having read a review on it today - I think that it is worth buying in to as the are holding alot of cash at the moment and if they selectively pick the right stocks going forward - there will definately be gains to had.
I also think that it is for the long term - technology is here to stay.
I am going to request an application and read through costs eg. initial charges etc prior to committment - but I think that Framlington are a competitive fund manager.

Advantages: ethical, profitable Disadvantages: subject to market forces, like most investments

Advantages: Wide variety of funds for all risk levels, low rates for changing funds Disadvantages: Needs an independant advisor
...Skandia (web site skandia.co.uk) offer a range of unit trust based investiment oppertunities. They charge at competitive rates but are not in any way cheap to join but the products have some key advantages.
The first and most substantial advantage is that you get to choose from a wide range of unit trusts. So if you want to open an ISA (MultISA), move your PEP (MultiPEP) or do a straight forward unit trust investiment (Multifund) you can choose from some of the best companies and funs around. You could for example start an ISA with the following funds:
Henderson Global Technology
Framlington Health
Baring UK Small Companys
Threadneedle Americian Select
Aberdeen Fixed Interest
This portfolio would take five years to obtain by taking out individual ISA's with the companies involved. Additionally you can change...
