Being Frank

Advantages: A good sound
Disadvantages: No Weslife's usual type of music

Shane, Bryan, Kian, Nicky and Mark. They were signed by Simon Cowell and are currently managed by Louis Walsh. Since their formation the bands music has greatly evolved and moved from teen pop to contempary adult music. In 2004 Bryan left the band to work on solo projects but despite rumours the rest of the band carried on performing and are still performing today. Together the boys have released - albums, sold more than 40 million records worldwide and gained 14 number one singles in the UK with I Have a Dream/Seasons in the Sun staying at the number 1 spot for 4 weeks in 1999. Their albums are; Westlife, Coast to Coast, World of Our Own, Unbreakable, Turnaround, Allow us to be Frank, Face to Face, The Love Album, and Back Home. It is Allow us to be Frank that I will be reviewing today. Track list 1. Ain't that a Kick in the Head 2 ...

Frank Turner - Poetry of the Deed

Advantages: A new Frank Turner album
Disadvantages: Perhaps not as strong as previous ones

Ladies and gentlemen?introducing a little known man who goes by the name of Frank Turner ? a singer songwriter hailing from London, with his third studio album; Poetry of the Deed. Anyone who?s a fan of good music, read on? His first two helpings of delicious of folk-cum-indie-acoustic rock music were anthemic and created a large buzz on the ?scene?. His debut; Sleep is for the Week, combined big sing-a-long choruses and lyrics of everyday life. His second outing; Love, Ire & Song did it all again but with more maturity, with heartfelt lyrics and complex song structures. Poetry of the Deed takes these two formulas and makes a great combination. The album?s opener; Live Fast Die Old, is somewhat different to much of his previous solo work and emphasises his close-knit band which he works along side now during his live shows ...

Review of Poetry Of The Deed [Digipak] - Frank Turner

Frank-Squeeze

Advantages: A musical lesson in the history of british guitar pop.Musically&lyrically cool&catchy.Retro appeal
Disadvantages: Not their best album, but definitely doesnt deserve to have flopped as much as it did.

" and "Up the Junction". -Squeeze also houses the legendary piano skills of Jools Holland but he left the band in late 1980 to form the Millionaires. -Difford and Tilbrook ended their time with squeeze in 1982 but not their collaboration as a strong songwriting duo. They went on to write for Paul Young, Billy Bremner and Jools Holland. - In 1985 the band reunited to do a charity gig, which made Difford, Tilbrook and Holland to permanently re-form. Right now for the album; Frank, was released in 1989. It was an instant flop. During the supporting tour for Frank, their label A&M ditched Squeeze. Soon after Holland left the band to concentrate on his career in music and entertainment (for the BBC). So for those that dont know, Frank is lyrically and musically like the lighter Elvis Costello and the attractions stuff mixed with some ...
