I've been using Free-Online to supplement my main account for over a year now, and found it to be so good that I'm dropping Demon - why pay when you can get as much for free? I've recommended it to several people, and only heard of one problem - a web site vanished when they had problems when upgrading their servers. That can happen to anyone, I'm sure.
Particularly impressive is the way they keep your account and site alive even ... ...you rarely upgrade.
Of late, their service has expanded - it's particularly impressive to have the web mail service, which lets you use your Free-Online mailboxes from any computer, without having to dial-in on a number which gives them a cut of the phone bill.

Particularly impressive is the way they keep your account and site alive even if you only use it very occasionally - such as keeping a fairly static web page which you rarely upgrade.

Advantages: National rate technical support, no gimmic ISP Disadvantages: lack of value added services, no going for 0800
FreeOnline is a no gimmic ISP with reasonable performance. It is on of the earlier player in the 0845 free internet service and have offered reasonable level of service all this while. I have been with this ISP for about a year and a half but have recently switched to 0800 ISP.
The strong points of freeonline are no gimmics start page, national rate (as oppose to premium rate !) technical support and have proven performance. Its disadvantages are ...

Free Online was one of the first 'free' Internet Service Providers starting just after Freeserve launched the revolution. They provided a good solid service with POP3 email, plenty of web space and a news server. The service has never been marketed very much, this has to be good news for the user with first time connections first time everytime. Hi Friends...! I want to make aware of a free calling facility from PC to phone. This is a VOIP based phone. Presently this is giving a facility to call more than 40 countries on both landline and mobiles are included.
